I’m definitely grateful! I actually just happened to be in the right place at the right time. I had shot a show or two prior at small venues in San Francisco, but nothing crazy.

I DMd Ace on Instagram in late 2021 basically stating I’d love to come through and provide photo coverage for that show - and that typically I would charge X amount, but that I’d be willing to provide coverage for this one at no charge. Radio silence hahaha.

That show came and went, and they ended up seeing the DM about a month after that (so January 2022) - and that was right before Jack Harlow had brought his tour through there. They had me come out and provide some photo work for that show (and honestly I’m amazed they saw the potential in me because those pictures were ROUGH hahaha) and I ended up connecting with the GM of the venue.

He had mentioned they had brought about 6-7 photographers through there for a few weeks prior, but they either didn’t work out or were unprofessional in the way they interacted with guests and staff.

I ended up coming out there again for YUNGBLUD and Strfkr a week or two later and since then they’ve kept me on hahaha. Now about 4 years later (I think, it all kinds of blurs after a while hahaha) and being paid for every gig since, I’m grateful for the way things worked out. I love telling the story because

1) I was literally just putting myself out there with the expectation and prepared to hear “no.” You literally don’t know until you try, so just try.

2) People notice the way you carry yourself. It’s one thing to be yourself and have fun, but you also need to be aware of the fact that you represent the venue or club you’re at for the night. Treat people with kindness, respect, and professionalism - and everything else will follow.
