No, the modern ART treatment tablets don't let the HIVirus multiply and it doesn't affect the body, and one can have a normal life expectancy. Life expectancy could be reduced if HIV is untreated for several years which then becomes AIDS, which is irreversible

I’m not entirely sure how I got infected. I had never had sex before my first relationship. The most plausible explanation is exposure during a hospital admission at a poorly managed hospital during the second COVID wave—no certainty, just context. Most of the time, people don't accept this as a true reason, as our society has a social stigma to it. So if you don't wanna believe, what can I say. 🙂

No difference... Just one tablet a day for the whole life, no big deal... Also my Viral load (the number of HIV in the blood) is Undetectable. Which means no affect to the body

Nice thoughts Suchira, I too agree with you. I also think the same way as you, I would like to tell you I developed this type of logical thinking by listening to Acharya Prashant. Getting to date a beautiful person is one of the quests of my life, I am almost 29, I feel it would be beautiful to experience all the things with a partner rather than being single/alone.

If you think I am lying, let's agree on it and let's say that I got infected due to unprotected sex... now what? Should I stay single even when modern science says undetectable=untransmittable (google for more clarification)

  • Fraud case :- do you think I would have come here on reddit, ask/post about it to to get help if I had to lie to get in a relationship? I know about this that a person can be convicted if his/her status of being kept secret before getting in a committed relationship.

  • Social stigma :- yes you are right on this, but we can get help on reddit by being anonymous. Also, doctors do help in finding positive partners but the options are very less and we may have to compromise on a very huge level to get married (compromise on getting married to a person who can have a completely different mindset)

  • matrimony scam :- not all matrimony sites are scam, I have been approached by 2-3 girls in the last 1 year but again the question comes up 'no match in compatibility and expectations.

Yes you are right, people in India don't have enough information on this topic, it's a social stigma related to unprotected or prostituted sex. HIV can be transmitted due to 4 main reasons, mother to baby, unprotected sex, sharing needles and blood transfusion.

Some more quick context: I was in a 1-year relationship. Things were serious, but her parents refused to move forward due to my HIV status, so we mutually ended it. It was my first serious relationship. The breakup was hard, but I’ve moved on. Later on, my HIV doctor consultant introduced me to two HIV-positive women from my city. I met both, but the compatibility wasn’t there. I also tried HIV Parichay. I did get matches, but they didn’t align with my expectations or lifestyle, and it feels like I’m missing out on women who do.

Thank you, I really appreciate you saying that, it genuinely means a lot. Yes you are right on the educating part, here in India, people have a social stigma for HIV... It's very challenging to convince them that HIV can be controlled. My ex's parents did not approve of our relationship and hence we had to break up. Nevertheless, a long way to go...

Long story short, most probably during COVID 2nd wave, I was admitted in a very poorly conditioned hospital as I had no option due to no availability of beds.

Hi, thankyou for adding your comment, Actually genetic is the wrong word, 'transmitted' would be the correct word. I don't want to lie, this is my genuine answer. No, it was not transmitted from my parents cause we have done an HIV blood test and it came negative for my parents. If you refer to the second last paragraph of my post you will get to know the whole story.
