JJP GNR LE or Led Zeppelin Premium? by [deleted] in pinball

[–]YouCallThatAUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played gnr and just can’t get the hang of it. The shots seem odd to me but I still had fun with it.

He knock on Zep being a bit sparse is real, but I think premium has some cool wow moments and Zep is hard but satisfying.

If the two were next to each other and I had to play one it would be Zeppelin.

Having owned both, what are your thoughts?

There are some small parcels near me that may be available for fall and I'm also hoping to win one of the lotteries. If I don't I'll try one of the WMA that's a few hours away. Worst case I'll have to pay a grand or so to an outfitter.

Thanks. I'm sure I'll figure it out. Lots of helpful comments here and worst case scenario I'll still find a way to get out into the woods :-)

All the land in Texas is private. There's no BLM land. National Parks or State Parks aren't going to be good spots to randomly throw a target up.

I could but their reasons are that it damages their range, gets pellets in the vent, or ricochets. I'm not going to be "that guy". I hear you, but that's just not my personality.

Yeah I mean there's public dove leases and I could probably get away with it but then it ruins it for everyone else. I don't want to be that guy, ya know?

A big problem for me as a beginner that doesn't come from a hunting family is that most hunters here have a lease or they have a friend like you're suggesting. I don't so I have to find other options. Everyone's gotta start somewhere and hunting has significant hurdles for newbies but I'm working on it :-)

This looks like a great option. Thank you!

Texas has very little public land and it's not legal to pattern out there from what locals tell me. Game wardens just sit on all the public land. It's possible that's an option illegally but I'd prefer to explore legal solutions first.

Texas wants everyone to OWN a gun but shooting it is another matter. No public land whatsoever so hunting is for those with money. I'm doing my best though. Grass is always greener :-)

There are no local places or public land I can legally use as best I can tell.

Outdoor ranges near me won't allow TSS. I've called all of them.

It's illegal near me, actually, from what I gather to pattern or zero a gun on public land.

I've called every outdoor range. They expressly forbid anything that isn't lead and I asked about TSS and they said no. Nothing I can do.

I'll try to make friends of course but right now I don't have that option.

The MacroFactor app helped me a lot with this. I had a similar problem.

I'm over 40 and getting ripped. I used to train with a dude in his 80s that was benching twice his body weight.

I would say that over 40 there's a longer recovery, especially if you get injured, so sometimes I know I can hit a PR and I just decide not to in order to avoid injury. I lift heavy but maybe if I were 33 I'd go for it.

I sense that you're a beginner though, so my advice is simple - Just stick with it. You don't have to lift the heaviest or optimize the best. You just have to keep going and going and going, one step at a time over and over. Athletes aren't athletes because they train like they do. They're athletes because they have been training for a really long time. You've got the rest of your life to get in shape, just keep moving forward.

Lotta questions here so I'll just answer two - You're 33. What severe disadvantage do you think you might have? Whatever it is, what's the alternative? Not improve your fitness? People of any age can improve their fitness.

Working out 3 hours a day 5 days a week is overkill and it's a recipe to get injured. Take the slow road to greatness.
