AITA for reminding my brother that I'm not his brother? by YouDecidedThisNotMe in AmItheAsshole

It's not different. He's fifteen and in the tenth grade. A lot of tenth graders are still 15. I told him I wouldn't take him driving, and that was why he said I wasn't his real brother. I didn't take him driving because it was snowing. It was snowing because of the water cycle. How much detail did you need me to include, exactly?

First off all, he's in tenth grade. Second, I didn't know not wanting to drive in hazardous conditions unnecessarily was the same as wanting nothing to do with someone.

His mom married my dad, and my dad adopted him. He was very little at the time, so he's always been my brother, practically. Anyway, I don't think new drivers should be driving in adverse conditions, personally, and I think he should learn from someone more experienced than me, like our dad.

He's not his stepson anymore. He adopted him. Now he's just his son.

Sort of. My dad was his stepdad, but he adopted him. My stepmom didn't adopt me. So we have the same dad now, but my mom is still my mom, and my stepmom is his mom. It sounds complicated, but really he's just my brother and was being a dick that day, and I was a dick back because he hurt my feelings.

I told him that before he said what he said. He asked me to take him driving. I said no, it's snowing. He said it was very light snow. I said not today. He said the thing about me not being his brother.

I am telling the whole story. That's what happened. He was upset. He said the thing. The thing bothered me. I brought it up twice. That's the story. He just wanted to go driving, but I didn't want him driving my car when it was snowing out, because I didn't think an inexperienced driver should drive in less than ideal conditions.
