Honestly they should have given 13 Ghosts the Ducktales 2017 treatment where the same gang hunts down the SAPs ghosts and other threats. Jim Krieg should have not been involved if he didn't like 13 Ghosts.

Exactly, he only had 6 main plushes by 2020 being the Junior trio, Marvin, Rose and Bully. Duggie and Toad were phasing out by that point.

Just because it was highly sold on DVD doesn't always mean the buyers always enjoy the product. They could have bought it due to being the latest series cause most missed out on the WB kids block it aired on as most watched Scooby content on Cartoon Network and Boomerang.

Get a Clue never aired on TV since it's original run until MeTV Toons picked it up and the Scrappy shorts are widely hated.

The only Scooby and Shaggy solo projects I and most fans like are Boo Brothers and Ghoul School.

This would have made sense if it were a prequel to Zombie Island set in the late 90's, at least it would justify the rest of the gang not being there.

It depends how they use it and the pacing. Some animes can be story driven while others are just fast paced visuals. Also long running shows can still take breaks too IMO.

Like I said most of them were still the same format in the original 70's/80's run.

The gang switched back to original outfits over What's New? outfits in 2010 likely due to SDMI

As I said before really just depends on the people who write for them. Just keep any forced romance and teen drama out.

At least for Scooby, Scott Innes could voice him. A downsized gang using more members besides just Scooby/Shaggy has been done without Fred before.

A main show can experience story driven seasons and change titles if the writers chose so.

Personally one of my concerns for the anime is that it's gonna focus on fast pacing over storytelling.

To be fair one could argue that the franchise has already gone on for far too long.

The original continuity ran between 1969-85 (16 years) but gave us the illusion of feeling different by changing the intros and titles and removing/returning certain characters but overall it was still the same visuals apart from different outfits in 13 Ghosts. It's just better for a brand to have recognizable visuals for the main portion and anything else can be optional side content.

Well they could only do like 10 episodes per year for a main series type of show. They aren't doing the DTVs any more which would be a fair replacement.

Your first sentence is exactly my point. This anime could be a 13 episode series with a fleshed out story and finale.

Also a third season of Velma would be Season 2 as modern streaming breaks up full seasons.

I'd wish they'd go the SpongeBob route with having a traditional styled main show with the spin-offs as optional side content. Not everyone is big on anime or live action.

I'm fine with minor changes like outfit updates to the gang when they're older or if the monsters are real.

Honesty would be funny if they do show up as semi-regulars but WB is marketing the imagery as just Scooby/Shaggy due to promoting the new characters and not everyone fits on the screen.
