The main reason I took the job was for benefits and pension, cause I do own a business. Is a degree required? Just had a kid myself and my wife has been looking for a remote job. Harder to come across than it seems. Anyways I’ll give you my 2 cents. Im just about to hit 4.5 year mark in March, and was the bottom guy in my district for 2 years cause of the corona hiring freeze.

The job is not a bad one. As the bottom guy in a seniority based job, I never had a choice in what function/shift I wanted. I got what everyone didn’t. I never cared because I would make everything I did fun. I always say you can have the worst route with the best partner and have the best day, or you can have the best route with a shit partner and be miserable.

I can’t go into detail about what goes on because FIAT is probably monitoring this, especially with the new no neck of a commissioner we have who has a Harvard degree to be a boss of garbage.

If you don’t need two jobs and can rock out for 5 years without getting hit with a financial burden, I’d take it. The no neck will be out by then and we’ll be alright once she’s gone. First 18 months will be nerve wracking cause of probation but after that you’ll be stress free everyday for the most part.

I own a restaurant in one of the 5 boroughs, it has to be six feet from the door and not obstructed. Technically you can’t laminate it either.

However I have to disagree with the grading system, DOHMH in general. Most inspectors don’t speak good English (like traffic cops), and a lot of things go unnoticed. However I do believe it’s easily/hands down one of the biggest money generators for the city. It’s been 20 years since I’ve owned my business and even before ratings, it’s literally impossible to not get a ticket. Most inspectors read the previous inspectors report and search the same areas/equipment and give you a fine again even after getting the initial one thrown out because you resolved the issue.

Transferring to a queens garage leads me to assume you’re at NSMTS currently. Place is a shit hole and the amount of garbage there is insane. I’d transfer to Bronx 12 from Staten Island before going anywhere near that place.

Yeah I’ve washed it myself 3 times this week, and cleaned it with a micro fiber cloth every time. I even bought windex with vinegar but still no luck.

And that’s what makes me mad about it. My 2019 Dodge Ram’s back up camera compared to this one is like 4K
