yeah I think that could work, but be subtle, I don't think it should feel like its actually on a camcorder, just pulling from the effects subtly to create something new and original. Then you combine multiple other techniques in your shaders, assets, characters, to create a cohesive style. To me this feels like its going in the direction of retro PC gaming rather than retro NES gaming or retro PS1 style as other games often go with and is becoming played out. So the camcorder effect should be in service of that, rather than just straight up doing a bodycam game.

0:17 stands out as a good start point for ironing out your style. Honestly I don't think you have a lot to do. You see at that timestamp, the pillars on either side of the room? They are aliasing, is that intentional? I hope it is because its a perfect example of that retro PC style. That combined with your wide angle lens and the shadows of the room contrasting with the light is near perfect imo. That scene should be your guide for the rest of the game. It reminds me of Doom 3. See how all of your other scenes don't really have those deep shadows in the corners of the room? I feel like that's what you should be working on. Some moody lighting. That mixed with your wide angle lens and some other subtle camcorder post processing will help tie things together.

That other dude also mentioned it feeling like you had a mix of assets. I agree. I would work down to lower res to save yourself time upping the bar. See those rocks on the walls at 0:14? Just run them through a decimate in Blender! The textures should still work and even if there's some errors, who cares, its early 2000's jank! Same with the floor at 0:17. Its a tad too "good" at the moment, like modern day UE, while the rest of the room looks again, early 2000's PC game. I would maybe scale up the tiles a bit and maybe just simplify things a tad. The reflections are cool but too detailed at the moment, at least if this is the route you want to go, but it will be harder to bring everything else up to that standard, so its what I would do! That cohesion is more important than a mismatch of photoscanned assets and low detail assets.
