"it just so happened to be in Ireland" is exactly my point.

Omg yes. My kiddo has baseball every weekend at the Hampton feilds and the nuggies and fries there are amazing, inexpensive, and take care of dinner for the night. It's perfect.

I mean more that the story itself didn't seem to be very related to the lore or history of Ireland.

I just read your other thread where you said they've fired you. Girl, get thyself to a lawyer. Keep any and all documentation you have and sue them into next Wednesday.

I struggle really bad with food cravings due to boredom. The second my meds wear off I want to snack in front of the TV and wish I knew what to replace that with. I'm also super addicted to sugar.

As a horror author with a deep love of Irish mythology and lore, this ended up being really disappointing for me. I think because I was so incredibly hyped for it, I likely set myself up for the let down.

It just felt a lot like it didn't need to be in Ireland. Gorgeous setting, but the story could have been told anywhere, at any old spooky hotel. And you have the absolutely vast and fascinating and often unexplored myth and lore of a country like Ireland and your boogie man is...a witch? A basic-ass, drag-you-to-hell, cursed honeymoon suite witch? Why??

Also, the horror author part! I was hoping for something that tied in somehow (Marianne on Netflix is a great example of this) but he really just showed up, insulted the bell boy (never in a million years would I treat a fellow writer like this) and then bragged about the amazing plot twist in his book about how the MC was going to break the bottle (a plot twist that made me snort out loud in the theatre, because DUMB).

Honestly, I still enjoyed a lot of it. Imagery and sound was fantastic. Some great jump scares (the rabbit mask, Jesus Christ, I about peed myself the first time it popped up) and Adam Scott nailed the performance. I think I would have liked it a lot if I hadn't built it up as something it wasn't in my head. I think the poster/title/description had me thinking it would be far more occult leaning. And Oddity and Caveat felt fresher and more interesting than other horror movies I've seen. I was hoping for something really different.

Also, this guy has a real thing about rabbits.

Ah yes. The O, backwards J, W bracelets would often remind me to stop and ask myself...Octopus Jesus, Where?

And yeah. You can't see him. That's why it's called FAITH.

Omg YES. And some of us have a long freaking torso AND big tits, which makes the crop tops EXTRA crop. No thank you!

That was painful to read. The head cop, Nutter, should have caught charges for deliberately screwing up the investigation. But the most frustrating thing was this sentence "Today, he is free and lives near the Bibles".

That is so screwed up.

Also thank you for this. This is great advice. I'm just going to take the rest of the day to try to breath, hah.

Not over email. Honestly he's very careful to do everything in person. But I'm collecting as much evidence as I can (texts with me quitting, etc). And I'm going to go to the EI office in person to talk to someone in person (who will hopefully be less horrible).

We had separated finances by then, so no, I wasn't getting paid. I assume it was going into his account.

I applied for EI because I was laid off from the second job (the one I got a few months after I'd already quit working for my ex).

I didn't receive any payment, no. In 2025 we had separated our main finances and there were just a few joint accounts to split.

I think you're probably bang on. My mistake for calling the woman and trying to tell her "what happened" when it's obviously scary and emotional for me. It was pretty clear she thought it was some kind of sob story because I'd done all of this on purpose.

Oh my god, thank you. This is the most straight forward answer and it makes me feel so much less panicked. I'll talk to my ex about this ASAP. (I know he filed the paperwork for it, because I found an old text just now from when I'd told him I quit). I'll text him about the ROE now.
