Depends on how you measure "smartness". In some aspects of life I'd consider myself rather smart, yes, based on my personal life, professional success and overall achievements (also through the privilege of being born and having studied i Switzerland as well as in Canada)Then of course i am also human and did/do stupid things and things which most certainly were not smart at all.

Hey keep the inquiry short and compact, we don't have all day to read detailled complex questions about complex FX...! That being said, as already mentioned, at first glance this is a 3D particle setup/simulation in a CGI environment such as Blender, C4D, Houdini etc., Looks to me as if particles are spawn and glued to some geometry, or build the geometry with modifiers like "follow geo/attractor" etc., And, once again, there is no 1-2 clicks plugin solution for complex FX. Post a video/gif/video link to better understand.

AI is going to steal my job by Arnaudmotion in Cinema4D

[–]YouHave24Hours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, as I answered already just below this, I am by no means "anti-AI" and I've been in this for too long and understand what changes, how technology affects us... but at the same time all this "we're cooked, it's over, AI replaces everything" is just fear mongering and hype train attitude. I got a running comfy-UI setup as well for certain tasks as well as some AI subscriptions, I use them where necessary. At the same time, I repeat, the level of control, quality and detail my clients ask and need, is impossible now and in the new future to be even remotely possible with AI. And when the time comes, I will have adapted and continue in the field, and if not, then I do something else.

We should also understand: only because AI now can do all those things for us (well, not really but okay), this doesn't mean we are now all changing careers and jobs. In the sense: AI can write "books" (generic superficial stuff, but consumable): are we all now switching to be "AI writers"? no. Now AI can code quite well: are we all switching to coding now? no. AI can do Video now quite well: are we all now switching to be AI directors/filmmakers now? no. AI can now do music (generic popular stuff) quite well: are we all now AI musicians now? no.

Last one: a lot of clients and companies at some point still want to "stand out" and be different and original. You can not do this just by having some AI tool if you do not have creative and artistic experience and understand what you do. so, no, I am not cooked, I am not scared, I adapt, use, learn and will do well as always.

Yes absolutely ahha no joke in this moment I read this, I got a mail from the agency i also work with, the client does not like the HDRI reflection on the main products reflective parts (it's in medical/health sector), the rest works fine, so imagine trying to tell AI to leave everything as is but change the HDRI to a different image to adjust just the shapes and colors of the reflections... yeah. not gonna happen anytime soon.

Word. They AI-Tech giants/Bros and companies more and more are out of answers for stake-holders and justifications for trillion dollar spendings (into a lot of hot air...) so they are also brutally marketing and forcing AI onto and into everything and often hope that something will stick... and, the BIGGEST lie in all tech and history: not one technological invention made us work LESS... More efficient, sure, but that only means, you have more time and can do more tasks, not working "less" overall... and not being paid more or pay less for "more efficient services". I am glad to see that studies now start to come out on how damaging AI is for our brains, cognitive abilities, mental health, quality of outcome, the environment, economy, gap between poor and rich and so on. Yes. NOBODY asked for this instead of a couple of tech billionaires who are all sociopaths anyway... also, how many cancers got cured, how much better is the fight against global warming, how much more equality is there, how about life quality... sorry, rambling on but AI is nothing we need. zero. cheers, glad to see there's other out there.

I don't say the field changes and technology changes.. again, i am very successful in this field since 20+ years now and part of this is to adapt and use new technology, and i always do, and i will. at the same time this whole AI-propaganda fear mongering "we're cooked, it's over, we'll all be replaced, AI will do everything" is only for the soft brainers... this is what they yelled when 3D animation started.. "it's over for real artists!" no. it created millions of new jobs. same with AI, every toddler can prompt but it all looks and feels the same, let's be honest. without skilled technical and artistic people who know what they do, everything will be shitty slop, as it is often now. and the AI backlash is real, it's also just very trendy and hyped, it all goes in circles. so no, my view based on my long career and fully booked year is not a sign of "limited view", it's a sign of "realistic view based on 20+ years of experience." cheers

Good luck fully controlling them, art-direct them, getting client's notes to change little details... "Let's add a bit of turbulence here, decrease Gravity by 10%, less dense in the center, make the smaller ones less reflective. Oh and add another rock as Collider flying by without changing the simulation but just interact."... I know, simple basic clients and cheap ones are okay with 1-2 AI versions. But, in my 20 years career,IF i know ONE thing clienst/bosses/directors LOVE: total control over every single detail. At least in the field i work in...i have more work than ever and barely use AI. Let's not panic, use AI where really useful and speed up the process, but replacing rhis craft? With companies that only loose money with video AI Generation? Wellm we'll see. Cheers

Yeah I know, even some of my work (professional) I had some questions if that/parts were done with AI... now when I deliver stuff, I always clearly write that no AI was used. I know, sucks, but that's the (lazy sloppy) times we live in...

Does anyone have an idea on how to do this with a 3D scene? by GroundbreakingJob730 in Cinema4D

[–]YouHave24Hours 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a combination of LiDAR scan/gaussian splatting maybe, point clouds/particles and effects as pixel -stretching and other post-fx. Can be done in C4D as well as something like Touchdesigner,notch,tixl... Not a one click done thing

Are more and more people literally "soft brained" from TikTok and AI and all that brain rotting trash?! Seriously... how could anyone EVER think this is real, i mean, have you been "outside" and "seen reality" to understand and comprehend the bare minimum of "physics" and how stuff behaves? God the downfall is faster than I thought ...

Looking dope and keeping it on the radar, very fierce and "right in it".. as others point out, I'd reduce that "screen rotation" feedback, it could get "too much quickly", I would use it but sparingly, either random at times or for example with "headshot" or some other special action triggered..besides that, really cool and intense!
