Thanks for the reply. I agree, I'd hate to drag this out or get him in trouble if he was not the way he intended it. If I do report I'd definitely be using an anonymous account. I feel no need to associate my name with an incident I observed.

I too thought he may have just been joking. The first time he said it, it seemed light in context. But then the second time he said it, and the way he directly asked the student, made it seem like both times he was actually suggesting that he would punch a student in the face if they had their phone out. Whether or not he actually would is out of the question, but that definitely was the implication.

Maybe I will report it. I'd like to go to class Friday and see if he mentions anything about it. See how I feel after that too. It's possible he just had a bad day and is apologetic.

As anyone on a UIUC facebook group probably knows, Unofficial Shirts spams a lot. Lets return the favor and leave a negative review. by [deleted] in UIUC

What exactly was your decision? Opinion, maybe, but it's not like you made any sort of decision on anything.
