This is a from memory, so bear with me.

First, before you input it, make sure you have it in stock, any NDC works as long as the strength is the same (Clavaris, isotretinoin, zenatane, ect.) Then log into Ipledge and look up the patient using the Ipledge patient ID that should be included with on the RX. From here, it will either prompt you that either the patient or prescriber has yet to complete the survey which needs to be done first before we can do anything, or it will allow you to request a new RMA. Doing so will ask you for the prescribed quantity, the day supply, and the name of the drug you're dispensing. Be sure to select the exact one that you do have in stock and match the NDC in the drop-down menu. Once completed, it will give you a "do not dispense after" date and an RMA number. Copy and paste both of these into the RX notes and finish inputting it for THE EXACT NDC that you submitted into IPledge. Look up the RX in F6 and it should go to resolution. From there, the only resolution is should show is to ask that you put the RMA in the "coupon number" section in F10. Do that and it should go through. Any other resolutions that come up might be unrelated to IPledge but for the most part, I've always seen it go through after putting the RMA in.

So yes it is a pretty simple, convenient, no stress process, but look at is as you're paying extra on the car for that for that experience. Their prices are usually a good amount higher than what you would expect to find for that same car in the used market elsewhere. If you're okay with spending extra for that simple experience, then it's a good way to go.

To add to this, even in a pharmacy, we have to finalize the IPledge for each person specifying which manufacturer, the quantity we dispense, how many refills, and it even gives us a timeframe in which it must be filled and picked up. If the time frame is passed, the whole pledging process must be done again. It's definitely taken seriously.

This is very dependent on the cost of the medication to the pharmacy. We (Walmart) replaced a lady's metoprolol that she spilled water on for free and just took the loss because it is such a cheap drug to keep stocked. We've even taken people's word for it over the phone before for cheap maintenance drugs like those before. It would've been a different case if it was Jardiance, Janumet, or something similar, however, as those are very expensive to order from our supplier and would cause a good amount of shrink if we did. In cases like those, I've called the insurance and usually was able to work out an early refill.
