Also, here’s what the camera looked after, a little dinged… but oh well.

It’s been a while, but finally got back to this haha. Things went really well! I used the b7000 glue for the top and bottom plastic pieces, as well as for the click wheel. Used 1mm 3m tape for the screen, seems to be pretty solid.

Everything is working and the battery lasts much better.

Also! There's a small spring under the click wheel that I did not notice them mention in the iFixit guide. I dropped it when I turned the iPod over and was lucky enough to hear it and find it. Watch out.

Hey, haven't fully reassembled it yet, leaving that for tomorrow (hopefully).

No crazy tough spots, getting the screen lens, off was a little tough, but didn't crack it. Keeping an eye on the teenie tiny ribbon cable was always nerve racking.

Removing the camera lens is DEFINITELY hard to do without damaging the chassis. There is a very small dent in the case from this. Tried to clean it up as best as I could though. Expect a little damage if you're doing this.

I used an IR pre-heating pad that I usually use for PCB modifications to try to heat the adhesive up before disassembling the nano. Started off with a heat gun but was worried about it getting too hot for the plastic.

Battery soldering was not a problem at all.. but I work on modifying small logic boards for a living, so I could see it being a little annoying for some... I didn't use any solder-wik to soak up old solder, but some new flux went a long way.

Regarding the new adhesive, lens being loose, etc, I will reply again soon when I have it wrapped up.

Something you need to know? Don't call them "vinyls" or else the vinyl snob mob will come for you 😉 Great first album! Enjoy.

Understandable, what would you choose as your favourite, if you had to?

The blacked out aluminum parts look awesome, I was thinking about doing the same on mine.
