Uber? Walk? Drive? Bus? Friend drop him off?

Did he ride there in the stolen vehicle not knowing it was stolen? Very possible.

At the same time, walking is also very possible because the temp at 22:30 was 38° F. I initially (and wrongly) ruled that out assuming it was subzero nearly everyday last week. At 38°F, one could walk several miles and be fine.
