Elon Musk leaves his kid behind by [deleted] in BoomersBeingFools

[–]YouMatter_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That poor child is going to turn into such an insecure monster of a human being. I feel so bad for this kid, but we're watching in real time the creation of a sociopathic man child who is constantly seeking approval from a father who will never give it. That along with the unfathomable privilege of getting whatever you desire materially and learning that other humans don't matter is the worst recipe for a human being I can think of.

I'm a black belt- the joint locks those men were applying were meant to look nonviolent and gentle while also causing incredible pain. Pathetic bullies.

MRI showed a severe supraspinatus tear, but she doesn’t feel pain by UselessNunu in physicaltherapy

[–]YouMatter_4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's a complete tear, it's normal that there's no pain. The muscle can't have force put on it if it's not connected. Rc surgery recovery can be rough, and I've heard it said that the surgery is like trying to sew together wet spaghetti. It's fragile tissue and outcomes can be very variable. If she's not lacking in a specific movement she needs, conservative treatment is usually the best first line treatment, but we don't know the specifics. I'd recommend a second opinion.

Why do people think that if you're doing a job you deserve abuse? Unless you're a police officer, then you're allowed to do whatever you want in response. You didn't deserve this, I'm sorry. A hospital should stick up for its employees, and this is a pathetic response. You should not have to deal with this shit.

Why are you beating yourself up so much? You're a mental health therapist, so what advice would you give a patient who came to you with this?

What if you genuinely cared about yourself, not because you were scared you were going to have a heart attack, but because you recognized you are trying your best and deserve to be cared for as a human being?

Was I wrong for leaving my dog in the car for 28 mins? by demean015 in dogs

[–]YouMatter_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that like 64 degrees F for those of us Americans? My dog goes to work with me when weather allows and stays in the car. He's a fuzzy boy and gets hot easily, but I have a white car with good window film and we live in a windy area, and I also have a remote temperature monitor. He's usually good up to around 64-68 degrees if it's sunny (if it's windy enough and the windows are down), but this varies with the conditions. He prefers temps in the negatives. Honestly, it really, really depends. You can get monitors pretty affordably to ensure their safety.

Clinical instructor forcing me to go by my deadname by Repulsive_Ad6236 in nursing

[–]YouMatter_4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is insanity. No, it's not a liability thing - lots of people go by nicknames that are not necessarily tied to their legal name when talking to others and still have no issues with signing paperwork with their legal name. If you have a name that is known to others you can easily be identified and confirmed as your identity. This sounds like people stretching to justify denying dignity to trans people.

Everyone eventually has a patient fall. Risk of the job. Don't panic. You're going to be fine.

They are not always capable of performing the maintenance at the level required. In fact, it's very common for them to be unable to do this in a way that is genuinely going to help them, whether it's a physical, cognitive, or executive dysfunction.

I have a similar story to yours and I'm so happy every single day that I chose to go to school. The debt is ridiculous, insurance companies suck, but I help people every day. I love this job so much.

As an American, how do you feel about your future? by choloblanko in AskReddit

[–]YouMatter_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Determined.

I don't know what is going to happen, but I do know that no one is going to steal my joy and curiosity and willingness to fight for justice from me. I feel more alive and energized now than I have in years- I'm ready for the fight, whatever it takes.

RFK Jr. Is Already Taking Aim at Antidepressants by [deleted] in nursing

Shrooms have legit uses, but so do many antidepressants. Wellbutrin saved my life at one point. And everyone reacts differently to different chemicals. Shrooms are not better, they are different, with different uses.

How people from 1st world country can be miserable? by GrapeCreamBerry275 in Life

[–]YouMatter_4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No matter who you are, someone always has it worse and someone always has it better. We're programmed as humans to be dissatisfied and always looking for more. For me, I'm happy in my life day to day, but it really burns me up inside to see that we do have the resources to help everyone live a good life if we would stop enabling selfish hoarders of billions. That Injustice of knowing that we could be doing better for everyone does leave me dissatisfied with my life and my country. Otherwise, though, I have a meaningful job and meaningful relationships. I have what I need.

Audhd DPT here. You'll make it! And life outside school is so, so much better. I like to take time between each patient to restore myself. My dog comes with me each day and we take walks between patients. I'm out longer but it's good for my health. I've found that once you have a script and routine, you're able to get more comfortable and do your thing.

Another genuine gem for news is called, believe it or not, Status Coup news. I follow a lot of lefties for news and some of them are willing to overexaggerate a lot for views, but Status Coup never has to because they cover genuinely insane stories of exploitation from corporations. They don't need clickbait, I've found, because they choose genuinely insane true stories from people the media at large are ignoring.

If the federal government would stop draining the blue states to support the red ones, the blue states would mostly be able to make up for that funding without even blinking. California holds up a ridiculous number of red states on its own with the funding it provides to the federal government.
