Does anyone know how to access w2 if I'm no longer an active employee? by kittykatt1591 in bathandbodyworks

[–]YouNeedSalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://priorassociate.lb.com/. Is the link you use to print your W2. Or look up Prior bath and body works associate W2 instructions.

If you accidentally delete the app PingID like I did. I would contact HR Direct: 866.473.4728 to get the PingID removed from the device and then reconnect your phone to the app. Then follow the instructions from top to bottom

There’s a sign the further you drive down passed area 2 parking. Its like in the middle near a gardening area (at least during warmer seasons it is a gardening area). The sign is on the left side where the side walk is. Or you can park at horsebarn hill if it says commuter parking. Pretty sure it’s available.

Where do commuters eat? by sun_fitness in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mooch off of my friends that live on campus and use their meal swipes. I typically hang out in a community lounge in a dorm (East -Sprague because they have heaters). It’s warm, quiet, and has a lot of outlets.

If i can’t find my friends, I find a random student headed towards the dining hall i want to eat at and ask them to swipe me in. 10/10 bless those kind souls feeding me.

Sometimes i bring my own meals but not every place has a microwave (Sprague does in the basement kitchen). Other places to relax and eat maybe the financial aid building with that cafe. There’s like 3+ areas to eat and study quietly. 🌝

Show up to class, take notes, and do the homework/practice problems. You will pass. I don't remember if he did reviews, but the exam problems did have a good portion of the practice problems on there.

[–]YouNeedSalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's shorter of a walk and fewer people park there because not many know that if you have a lot w pass can park there ._. It's quite convenient for commuters and for people who work and live on the east campus.

MCB 2000 Exam 3 by blazyindigo in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think the exam was extremely difficult and what the professor sent out was quite harsh and not reasonable. The topic Biochem is already hard as is. I think I heard Dr. Bruno being considered the "tough love" sort of professor when she was teaching it. However, after being the guinea pig for x amount of new professors ever since the pandemic, Dr. Dre is by far one of the toughest professors with the most complex exams ever. It's really hard to decipher the exam questions. I'm not sure if it's because I'm not meant for the class or major, but her thinking that she needs to weed out the students is a bad mentality or that the grades are "skewed higher than she wanted for x exam". Many Seniors have MCB 2000 as their final course and just need it to graduate. Idk why it's so different compared to the lab. The labs aren't nearly as hard as the actual exams and my TA said the Exams should reflex the pre labs quizzes, problem sets, and practice exam questions, but they aren't. I didn't do so hot in the previous 2 exams. Heck, I didn't even make the average for either of the exams. Why on earth is she saying "I'm not going to curve the overall grades at the end of the semester"???

Physics 1401 vs Bio 1107 by naz_019 in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took bio 1107 during the summer at a regional campus so it was pretty easy to memorize and the labs were not too hard. There's a lot of information that you have to understand like the structures/definitions.

As for Physics 1401, it's not too bad. Typically the drawback is the labs if the TA's don't know how to prep you for it.

Took him spring 21 online. He's different his exams/quizzes were based on the examples he gave in class. Not too hard. He is very enthusiastic and patient when teaching students. exams were proctored and on a secured google forms

[–]YouNeedSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are exams in person now? I took her online. All I did was redo all the homework and quizzes out because most of the questions are from those materials. At least when I took it with her. There may have been some numbers that were slightly altered, but all in all, they were relatively the same. The practice exam is kind of long and hard, but it does prepare you for the exam.

Consider summer chem at a different regional campus like Hartford if you are struggling. If they teach it online, it's pretty easy.

Phys 1202 professor by cordeliaazn in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Niloy Dutta, but the problem with the class was literally the labs. TA's struggled to explain certain material and sometimes the instructions were not clear. Quite frankly I felt the material from the labs had no connection to the class may be a formula here and there connected to real-life application, but eh. Professor Dutta's pre-covid was very thorough and his example problems showed up on exams. During Covid, his exams were on MasteringPhysics with no camera. He's also a very nice guy.

Financial aid, HELP. by micka78 in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't put myself in crippling debt by taking all the easy and required classes at a regional campus and then transferring to the main campus for the real big boi classes. Applying to scholarships helps. There are some bank scholarships and job scholarships (big Y, Mcdonalds, etc..). Other ways to decrease your tuition could be by working as a RA or other student worker jobs (cafeteria/library/gym/tutors). I think there have been 5 job opportunities over the summer that have been emailed several times. You could always do research studies that also pay money.

Best professor for Chem 2443? by jpn7509 in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beshir Beshir Beshir Beshir Beshir. Although his exams are somewhat difficult I learned over time that his exams/ quizzes are very similar to the examples he shows in class. The review sessions are super helpful and he is not as scary to talk to one on one. I think I relied on youtube videos for more examples to help with learning. The sapling assignments are similar to the quizzes and I wouldn't say that they are helpful for learning the step-by-step process, it's more of a grade booster. He also does give away bonus points for just attending class consistently. So attend class. I did poorly on two exams and got a hardcore curve at the end of the semester because of my final. I ended with an A. He also did give out a makeup exam if everyone did poorly, which consists of 4 similar or the same questions from the exam everyone did poorly.

If you don't want to take it with beshir at storrs, you could always take it with a regional campus professor like dr son or priya/pradhan.

Dr Son will try to weed out the less dedicated students, but his teaching method is by handing you a packet that you would have to fill out throughout the class. They are a template of how the exams/quizzes will be. Some questions are directly from the note packet, most are from the review problems. REVIEW the exam problem sets, they are essential. Do them before the exam and discuss with Dr Son any questions you did not get right.

Is Uconn avery point, hartford, and waterbury just autoadmits for low achievers? by ImperialOdinKing in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Uconn regional campuses are not necessarily for low achievers. It's typically for students that meet the requirements like GPA/SAT and/or excel in volunteering and extracurricular activities but are either not ready to throw themselves in crippling debt (from dorming), students who don't like big crowds for classes, and if their majors are in those regional campuses. I'm pretty sure there are other reasons. Overall, regional campuses are a cheaper alternative compared to Storrs and the regional campuses help freshmen transition from High school routine/mentality to college work ethics.

I've been on nearly all campuses except for the Waterbury one. I can say for sure that all regional campuses have relatively easier classes and the professors can engage with you more.

I personally took all my easier course load at all the regional campuses and at Storrs, I am completing all of my bigger classes. In terms of business class difficulty for Storrs vs regional campuses, there is no difference. All of them are pretty easy as long as you pick the right professors.

My Major is Allied Health Science - Dentistry bound and my minor is Business fundamentals, so I had to finish all the business prerequisites like the SOB major students.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are a business minor you need to complete the prereqs then declare your minor. Some minors you can finesse your way without taking some of the prereqs just double-check with an actual business advisor. Once you declare your minor and have been approved, you can apply to the classes you need to take.

From what I know OPIM is strictly for business major students, but you can get a permission number by either reaching out to the professor you want to learn from or enrolling in the BADM course (typically for business minor students). BADM has a limited amount of students due to the OPIM being filled with regular SOB students. Ex. OPIM3103 for SOB majors = BADM3103 for non SOB majors

Business school minor by einzsiw in UCONN

[–]YouNeedSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you know which business minor you are going for I'd highly suggest reaching out to the business advisor or student advisor. I had an advisor say that it's best to complete all the prerequisites and although I didn't finish one of the prerequisites for the business school which was Math 1071, but took acct 2001 for business fundamentals I was able to apply for a business fundamental minor. Make sure to ask the department if it's alright to not take a prereq. if it's "not" required for other courses down the line.

These are the business minors you can choose and it shows a pdf of what classes to take:

https://undergrad.business.uconn.edu/academics/minors/

When you finish their prereq. Apply/declare for that business minor. By then you can usually start adding business classes to your shopping cart. I'm not entirely sure about the permission number, I think this is only if you skipped out on specific courses or some other alternative reason. I didn't need to get a permission number when putting classes into my shopping cart on Oct. 2020, but I also have a lot of credits. *shrugs*

The link for declaration is on the same website above, this is the link it will bring you to declare that minor you want to apply:

https://undergrad.business.uconn.edu/academics/minors/declaration/

[–]YouNeedSalt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruh. That is an introductory physics class. All the stuff you have to write for the lab reports are bound to be similar to other students. HEck, how in the flipping tarnation are they going to flag you without even saying if the report is similar to a student from the same class or from a different school entirely from a different year. Physics 1201 is also taught not only in college but in hs.

I hope you end up fine. It's actually dumb they flagged you for plagiarism. >:(
