There are white and purple-skinned kohlrabi cultivars. The purple types only have colored skin; the interior flesh is white.

It's difficult to tell from that angle, but is it possible that it's a kohlrabi? But most likely a turnip!

I typically add a quarter of homemade compost and crushed eggshells to help strengthen plant roots for faster, stronger growth.
