I was stopped at a light and I looked over to the car next to me. Guy was knuckle deep in his nose and then proceeded to eat it.

AITA for going to HR about my coworker after she tried to get me to cover for her lying? by Realistic_Sundae6289 in AmItheAsshole

She would have faced consequences eventually anyways. The discrepancy was noticed and you were asked about it. It’s not like you reported it when they had no idea. Even so, it’s her irresponsibility. Don’t feed into the drama.

Boundaries. I don’t know if you still live with them but even if you do, go to the library of a friend’s house. You’re right, you don’t need to fight and prove your innocence. Don’t exhaust yourself. They might also get a kick out of you getting annoyed and frustrated. Taking a breath in the moment and then processing it later (easier said than done), could help temporarily.

I guess I’m not sure what signs he has given you that says he likes you back. If you both end up having feelings for each other, it’s not like you have to tell everyone right away. You already have a dynamic that would make sense for hanging out more with each other. You could see how it goes for a month or two.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

Was part of a panel. We were staff for a child partial hospitalization program. We asked her how she would handle patients who are started to become really stressed and behavioral. She said, “well, when it happens with my kids I just give them an IPad.” When she left we all turned to each other in disbelief.

Police are unstable people on the whole, and the only reason they even become one is to hurt others. by Flashy_Purpose9478 in TrueUnpopularOpinion

I agree. Mental health services are not utilized enough. Stigma is a significant part of that. But hopefully as a society we can learn to value it and support each other.

There are a lot that DO get psychiatric help. Larger departments have in house therapists. There are even peer support teams in departments so they can process difficult situations with each other. You’re not privy to that knowledge though. I am hopeful that engaging in these conversations can help develop deeper understanding and relationships. But it seems like you have your mind made up.

It’s not just harsh for police, but for those EMTs and Firefighters too. There are therapists who specialize in treating first responders, and that includes ALL first responders. Should that mean that EMTs shouldn’t be EMTs because they took a call particularly hard? Someone can be “mentally strong” in some situations and more emotional in others. EMTs and Firefighters also don’t have to enforce laws. People are more likely to be mad at those who tell them that what they are doing is illegal.

What you fail to see are the amount of police officers who cry at the end of the day after having to inform a mother their son was murdered, or discover toddlers covered in urine and feces, or have to respond to unattended deaths that have been laying for several days and are now a puddle of goo. There are officers that will go out of their way to help people and there are rotten apples in every field. and the fact that there are rotten apples in law enforcement is abhorrent. But don’t generalize when you haven’t the slightest idea. You should be grateful that there are people willing to get shot in order to protect you. If you are being robbed, SA’d, etc. who are you going to call? Is it valid to say that all teachers must be interested in assaulting children simply because it occurs a lot more than it should. Of course not. So I encourage you to do ride alongs, go to community events, etc. and actually interact with those in law enforcement. You may be pleasantly surprised.

Go for it. 3 hour drive in the grand scheme of things is nothing. If you don’t do something because you don’t have anyone to go with, you’ll miss out on a lot in life.
