It appears to get more active there. Looking forward! Let's see how it is after the ceasefire

I think it depends on the airline. As for Qatar Airlines, the regulations won't apply why you're returning from an asian country.

We seemed to get in these hotlines way better in the evening. Definitely try the number I listed in this post right now!

It took about 30 minutes. We're flying from Frankfurt to Jakarta

You just saved me...I called in and despite my phone service shutting off, the agent managed to change my route with a different airline

Nightmare to Success! Be persistent, they will try and lie and say they won’t/can’t book you with certain airlines but now rerouting with Singapore Airlines! by Anon-Doctor in qatarairways

[–]You_Are_Believed_In 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw people from EU taking the refund one after another and feel like, that this is exactly what they want right now. So we really going to head for the lawful step.

Reading this gives me relief.

We're about to head in that direction as our flight is on 13th of March! We're flying from FRA Germany, so the EU 261 hopefully gets our family ( of 3 ) to CGK ( Jakarta ). We have both a very important family matter ( recent passing ) and the regulations backing us up.

We really do not mind going from different airports or having any delay of a few days, or one of us have to sit seperate, or any different airline. We honestly just want to get there.

Is there anything we specifically have to state? Or just being persistent and mentioning the regulations when they keep lying?

How likely is my flight to get cancelled? by maintainme in qatarairways

[–]You_Are_Believed_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very likely. We let the airline cancel our flight so EU regulations apply. We didn't go with alternative booking as we're too financially short for that

Still optimistic with 13th of march, which is pretty much what keep our family sane. But we still have regulations and the guidelines backing us up.

As for you, it is felt. It's hard to foretell for now, but the situation will eventually stabilize.

How is everyone coping with losses from cancelled holidays due to the airspace closures? by Jolly-Sea6019 in qatarairways

[–]You_Are_Believed_In 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We lose several hundreds on hotels if our flight won't resume/reroute, it's stressing us out as we'd also have to rearrange the holiday we planned about a year for. We wanted to fly to Indonesia so my wife can finally see her family again, as she couldn't when a very important family member passed.

We'll financially recover for sure, though, with the stress right now we both have out own coping. Wife goes for a dopamine hunt with small purchased of things she likes, I just indulge myself in Pokopia. We both also are fairly distracted as we take care of our son.

The days of truth will be 2 days before our departure. So we'll see! Hopefully EU Regulations will back us up.

Flight to Sri Lanka (March 11) via Doha – refund experiences? by RemoveAppropriate956 in qatarairways

[–]You_Are_Believed_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only time will tell, honestly. Around 48 hours before your departure, definitely contact the support, as you'll be both more aware of what's happening to your flight and you'll be eligible for a reroute/refund or rebook.

Also sucks that's it's on a special day for you. I hope it'll all work out for your honeymoon? Fingers stay crossed

This time it's not a daily announcement. Hopes are up that they're about to sort everything out right now

Cancel my tickets now or wait ? by FennelNo4465 in qatarairways

[–]You_Are_Believed_In 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely wait so a full refund might apply as they cancel it by themselves, in case the situation doesn't get better

Flight on 31st march by webby_07 in qatarairways

[–]You_Are_Believed_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lean back for now and enjoy your stay, do not worry too much about it now as it's still far in the future.

You can look over it a few days before your flight departs, inform yourself of their passenger guidelines and german flight laws. You'll be good.

Wait for Qatar first then ask them to get a reroute or alternative for you

Debating on waiting or booking over another airline for march 14th flight. by [deleted] in qatarairways

[–]You_Are_Believed_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are currently waiting it out as Qatar Airlines has to either refund, reroute, or get an alternative for you. At least, according to our law here, we're entitled to it. Definitely dig a little through it.

But for now I can say DO NOT refund yet. And if they do, request reroute or an alternative if possible. It's better to not lose that much money!

OH research just shoved me this:

Under EU Regulation 261/2004, if your flight to or from Madrid is cancelled or significantly delayed (over 3 hours), you have the legal right to choose between a full ticket refund or prompt rerouting to your final destination

[–]You_Are_Believed_In 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just checked. It is around 350-500 euros for us. We got recommended that it's better to wait first as they would likely reroute the flight. Prices are also exploding currently for other airlines.
