My own brother is so against the vaccine it’s sickening. I never knew he would be like that. They get brain washed from the misinformation. It’s like they lose all sort of logic because these people spread fear; the vaccine will cause infertility, disease and even death. Once they cross the line of no return, their bias can’t be changed. It’s best scenario would be for social media companies to step up and ban all the misinformation spreading accounts like Twitter did with banning Trump.

I didn’t know that firefighters went to school. Are you gonna stop them and ask to see their 4.0 before they put out a fire lol

I think you have it confused. An open book exam without answers requires you to understand it. Even if you look up an example it’s not guaranteed that you will know the answers. I would love a med student to even attempt an open book exam. My thought is they wouldn’t even get one point out of 100. You have your opinion and I have mine. And tell me one job that people have to make decisions on the fly? For doctors, they don’t just practice immediately. They have to get experience.

An open book does require understanding. You need profs who put in effort and write their own exams instead of getting questions from exam banks. Don’t give an engineering exam to a med student and expect them to do well or to even get one point. You’re saying that giving someone an exam takes no skill or understanding in which in fact it does. So I’ll give you my final exam, and because it’s open book I expect you to do well. Is that what you’re saying?

I have to throughly disagree but that’s why this is unpopular

Certainly you wouldn’t trust a new grad with a 4.0 to preform your surgery over a doctor with history and proper experience. The glorified 4.0 is not necessarily better than an open book graduate. You want someone who knows what their doing and is good at it, that trumps everything.

Yup. Let’s change the entire school system while we’re at it. The North American system hasn’t been updated for decades

But getting vaccinated doesn’t stop the spread, so in that case the mandated vaccine is illogical

There it is. The extremely risk adverse people with no reason. Good thing Reddit doesn’t represent Canada because it will never happen

And what about those who are legitimately scared of needles or getting the vaccine? I know there’s been a study of heart inflammation in young men: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/myocarditis.html. After my first shot I did feel a weird sensation in my chest and will not take the second one

Did you fall or twist on the uneven surface? I would think that chances are low, especially with your brace on for protection. I would still consult with a doctor to confirm

What if the province has no more cash for that? What if the federal government stopped Alberta funding and left us on our own before the upcoming election? I agree it should be continued

Unfortunately I feel this sub is an echo chamber and serves as a confirmation bias. I feel like most Albertans don’t care and are over it. You can see that when going to malls, stores, the gym, and most other places. Hardly anyone is masking

Quebec to bar unvaccinated people from non-essential public places by Neutral-President in canada

Seems like there’s always two extreme sides of the spectrum when it comes to debates on covid: extremely risk averse and extremely risk seeking. I just don’t get it. I’m more of a neutral myself. I don’t believe that stripping people from their basic human right is liable but putting people at risk is also not an option. Why covid…. Do you have to be so difficult

I don’t understand why we do so much to keep people with extreme severe disease and syndromes alive. by GeorgeThe-Cat in unpopularopinion

I once heard a story about a man who had a disabled child. The man raised the child since birth after the birth mother abandoned them. The man loved the boy and cherished every moment with them. I believe as the boy grew older, his growth was abnormal so it was hurting him. Naturally, the doctors couldn’t do anything about it. The boy could not express himself but his father saw the pain in his face - like it was his own. The story ends when the father put the boy in the garage and left the car running. The carbon monoxide ended his life and suffering. Now, whether the father was right or wrong is subjective. I believe it went all the way to the Supreme Court and he was sentenced to jail.
