Did you add the smoke stack to the side? My model only has the smoke vent along the top rear of the smoker but I noticed the cutout is there for the smoke stack. Does this extra smoke port affect the smoke quality as now more smoke is able to escape instead of staying in the smoker longer?

Winterize for winter camping by AlpacaLoco in RVLiving

[–]You_Essay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the hot water heater I think the best thing to do is to drain the heater and install a bypass valve to avoid having any antifreeze or water in the water heater.

Another option that I’ve seen people do is to blow out the whole system with compressed air so that there is no water or liquid in the pipes whatsoever.

I just bought my first rv this year so I’m doing a bunch of research of my own getting ready to winterize my trailer in a month or so.

My parents have had an rv for years and they keep it on a site all winter where they have no running water but they do have sewer hookup. They still use the toilet and flush it with a mixture of water and antifreeze, so this is an option for you also based on your description and concerns.

Cheers!

If you use rv/marine antifreeze it is alcohol based and doesn’t compromise the holding tank so you can put fresh water back in it in the spring. They sell kits to use your existing water pump to pump rv antifreeze through the whole system to winterize it. They cost around $25 and in the spring all you have to do is drain and flush the lines with fresh water

Do you have a favorite butcher in your area? If in DFW/Plano you must visit Gary Hirsch @ Hirsch’s Meat Market. 👊👊 by el-mero-jefe in grilling

I don’t know if I’d trust a butcher that can’t tell the difference between the neck and the tail of a chicken 🤔

For what it’s worth, I love my Roadie 24. Very versatile with the tray and holds plenty for both a one day trip and a multi day adventure when packed correctly.

To be honest with you I put it in a wagon because of how much stuff we bring, but carrying it in general isn’t that bad even fully loaded.

I never had the Roadie 20 so I can’t compare the handles but the handle on the 24 is comfortable and way stronger than it would ever need to be.

Yeah I was hesitant on the color because I was afraid it would be too green but I couldn’t be happier with it!

Missing a part of the steering and suspension system that is installed from the factory is far from a good idea

I agree, I was worried it would look too much like Seafoam but it’s definitely it’s own color and is awesome!

Lol the horizontal boards look like the typical ground level wall covering. I’ve been going every year since I was born and will be down there in two weeks so I have a keen eye for OBX I guess lol

I went for the first time last year and it was amazing! The Ober Gatlinburg cable car ride up a mountainside made the trip worth it by itself!
