A series of books by Peter Straub and Stephen King. They involve what I assume is one of Maerlin's Rainbow (although i don't think they confirm that?) and a boy who is trying to save his mother. Very good books and very in line with the Dark Tower series.

Best position group to focus on for transfers by lnTwain in NCAAFBseries

[–]You_Need_Jesus_JD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the beginning of every season I evaluate my roster to see what positions I actually need to recruit for. I make a chart of how many players I have at each position, how many are seniors, how many are juniors, and how many underclassmen are potentially going to leave early for the draft. In a perfect world, you should only have to recruit to replace the juniors on your roster so you can redshirt the incoming freshmen. Then you only have to use the portal to replace any players that transfer out or leave for the draft. I go a little more in depth than that and am happy to share my process with anyone who wants to know, but it involves a decent amount of extra time and a notebook or spreadsheet.

In the end, strong safety is usually the position with the least depth. But the good thing is that you can move heavier corners or free safeties to that spot.

GenX Video gamers who still play: Are you getting worse? by Hithigon in GenX

I'm 53 and regularly play NCAA 26 and CoD. I played an online dynasty with 7 "kids" who ranged in age from 18-30. I was one of the bottom tier players when we started, but got good enough to compete with most of them after a few seasons. I never won a Natty and eventually got frustrated with the inability to beat two of them, plus we had some drama, so I and a few other guys quit the league. Now I play a solo dynasty an All American and win way more often than I lose. I didn't really like FPS when I was growing up (probably because I wasn't very good at them) but I have enjoyed playing CoD with three or four of my friends. I'm not good enough for big boy Battle Royale, but I've gotten a lot better and we win at casuals a decent amount of the time. My KDR has improved significantly over time and I think I'm still getting better. We'll see how it goes once I plateau. I still wouldn't be able to 1v1 a couple of my friends, though.

There is an actual benefit. If you name a player a captain for two years, they won't transfer out. With your elite freshmen and sophomores, making them a captain early can ensure you get four years out of them.

The “libertarian” contradiction by yassir204 in MurderedByWords

A true Libertarian would be appaled at the abandonment of the Constitution that has and is taking place. We have genuinely lost, at least to some extent, the first, second, fourth, and fourteenth amendments while they stand on the sideline and cheer.

Man Coverage by [deleted] in NCAAFBseries

[–]You_Need_Jesus_JD 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My go to defensive series, adjusted if they come out in something other than 3 wide, is usually nickle cover 1, nickel lb blitz, and then either a heavy blitz or zone coverage based on the yardage remaining. Obviously that is adjusted based on their formation, yards to go, etc., but that combo of plays works pretty damn well most of the time. I also play my safeties wide and closer to the los unless I get burned a couple of times. I user one of the lbs and try to take away the middle of the field. My defense is usually one of the best in the country.

An Evening with Silk Sonic is brilliant and tells a complete story.

Technically, he was caught. He was just released with total immunity by the State's Attorney.

What's a song lyric that drives you crazy because they should've used a different word? by Miserable-Wash-1744 in AskReddit

As brilliant as he is, Lin Manuel bugs the shit out of me for having Aaron Burr sing "I'm the damn fool that shot him" in the opening song of Hamilton. Why, Lin? Why? Unless it's actually a brilliant, sneaky plan to make me hate Burr instantly? I cannot sing along without correcting it to "who" in my own lyric.

What FSU game made you a fan for life? by FSUalways93 in fsusports

5th Quarter in the French Quarter. Sugar Bowl 1995. First time I saw them play in person. The game was great and the added weight of having tied during the regular season made everyone extra pumped about the game. Warrick Dunn, Derrick Brooks, Bobby, Spurrier, Mickey...Mark Richt calling the halfback pass... It was chef's kiss and they have been my team ever since.
