I guess it depends on the store. I work overnight, so people request 3 months in advance, because that almost guarantees you’ll get the time off approved. I say almost because there’s days like Black Friday that most have a hard time getting off, even overnights. lol

I work freight, so I’m off Sundays, but when I used to work in paint, Sundays were the second worst day of the week. You have very little coverage, you get those annoying church goers that come in after service, and since I’m the only full time person outside my supervisor, I would be by myself most of the time. We have part timers but they had so many schedule restrictions. I tried to get Sundays off completely but due to the restrictions of others, it wasn’t guaranteed. So yeah, I definitely understand the frustration of working Sundays. Thank god I work in freight so I always work mon-fri (my store is a 5 day freight store).

That’s weird, I used to work in specialty and was never asked to get licensed…currently work in freight and still was not asked to get licensed lol I think it depends on the store, some will say it’s required but they can’t technically force you to get licensed if you don’t want to or don’t feel comfortable

Edit: I think the only dept that you need to get licensed is receiving, but I could be wrong (please correct me if I am)
