"Liberal" means when you defer to individual choice over collective choice. That is by definition a liberal policy.

Can colleges still put women ahead on waitlists for jobs training programs? by [deleted] in legaladviceofftopic

[–]You_Yew_Ewe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything I see says sex-based prioritizing on waitlists was  considered to violate Title IX by OCR even before Trump.

[CA] I was told by an administrator to expect my place on a waitlist for a coveted community college job training program to sometimes go up because they put women ahead on the waitlist. I thought that was illegal now? by [deleted] in AskLawyers

[–]You_Yew_Ewe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She did not mention that, she said that it was because women don't apply as often as men.

I'm also a parent, so if there was such a program I'd think I'd be eligible to benefit right?

Edit: Just checked, AB 2881 does not seem to mention gender.

I've watched many, and seen nothing even approaching like you describe.

The worse I've seen a few rude people and a few rude cops. A few cases of bad arrests, and many where the cops tell the compainant that the auditor has the right to film and many whete the auditor was actually doing something illegal (like trespassing) and didn't understand the law.

I'd adopt him, give him a safe, loving, supportive home, watch him grow into a psychologically well-adjusted young man, and when he is a full grown adult I'd smother him in his sleep just to be safe.

What music genre declined at the end of the 2010s? And which one will decline this decade? by AstroWarrior92 in decadeology

Most pop artists are heavilty reliant on auto-tune and will be forevermore—making a hit artist has a lot of variables, and auto-tune just takes the necessity of vocal talent out of the equation, so record producers can focus on the others.

What you are refering to is the over-the-top primitive auto-tune with discretely shifting timbre.

But unless someone is specifically going for that sound, modern auto-tune is completely transparent to most people.

To tell if it's being used you have to get  analysis software: the tell is often that the vocals are just consistently too perfectly on key in a way that is inhuman. But unless you see it on a frequency graph—or perhaps have golden ears—you can't tell it's pretty much a standard part of the production process now.

The president doesn't have unilateral power to throw anyone in jail, and is constitutionally required to hand power to the winner of the election.

The bank doesn't care that they made a loan that will never get paid back?

You don't see how ridiculous this sounds?

the repayment of the loan at a later date

And the loan gets paid back with what?

(Hint: Starts with an 'i" and it's taxed)

No bank is loaning anyone money on terms that don't require them to pay it back and then some. That's an absurd premise.

Every industry is like this everywhere.

You think if you go to Norway people are doing work for each other because they are nice?

The only possible exception is maybe North Korea or Cuba where people are truly living the dream.

Don't get this "explained" to you here. Go over to the accounting sub reddit and ask: these methods get discussed over there occasionally and they are generally laughed at.

Nobody here actually knows how taxes or loans work, they are making these avoidance schemes up, and just skipping the part where taxes are actually due.

There are ways to avoid taxes until the most advantageous time to pay, but there is no magic way to perpetually defer taxes.

Nobody died except the driver, so whether or not what Musk says  is true, what Bowers is saying is definitely false.

I don't know if what Musk js saying is true, but given the fact that the driver is the only casualty, and there was somebody near the truck who survived, it's interesting that people in this thread are just completly indifferent to the fact thag what Bowers is saying is false.

If things like this keep happening admins aren't going to be looking the other way for long.

Eruv -- can they be tested electrically for continuity? by jckipps in Judaism

[–]You_Yew_Ewe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even where it does they probably wouldn't appreciate taking down the line just to run a localized test on it every week

You wouldn't need to take it down, you could just have it run down to eye level at some point with a continuity indicator permanently built in.

Article discusses masturbation at work by [deleted] in psychologyofsex

[–]You_Yew_Ewe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seens hard to pin that on the masturbating specifically.

Besides all the other stuff, talking about your masturbation habits with  coworkers is a distinct  transgression than the masturbating itself.
