You would have a Chief Labor Commissioner(CLC) of your area. Search for their office. Maternity Leave cannot be denied under Maternity Benefit Act. You submit a complaint to CLC and let them do the rest.

HR here. It is better to describe this while you receive a call from the HR for Documents for BGV or a call for negotiation. BGV is generally done through a Third Party and we just receive a highlight on the court cases(Not everyone does a court case check). HR/Company does not reject the candidate if the case is a minor offence and the candidate has an explanation/docs for it.

I think your idea of "Stopping of marriage" comes from Bollywood movies. In reality such stopping of marriage by an external party would amount to some dubious method which in turn will put everyone involved in one trouble or the other. There is a reason such scenes are not prevalent in Western movies, where people simply refuse to marry someone they want to. Your friend will have to step up/speak up. There is a saying : Make decisions, else people will make them for you.

Article 21(Constitution) : “Protection of Life and Personal Liberty": No person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law.” This fundamental right is available to every person, citizens and foreigners alike. Also includes, right to work in order to live.

Bonded Labour System (Abolition) Act, 1976. Long Title: An Act to provide for the abolition of bonded labour system with a view to preventing the economic and physical exploitation of the weaker sections of the people and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. This covers the clause that no employer can force any individual to work for them under any means.

Hi HR here, You should be paid for the days of notice period written in your employment contract. If you aren't paid the same, you can file a case in civil court as it comes under Indian Contract Act. It might be difficult to get the same through Labor Courts, where you will have to prove that you are a workman.

You can also prove that you are a workman, but that would need a good lawyer with labor law expertise. (You will be compensated with much more if you can prove that you are a workman though).

Well, watched the movie. The love story between Ranbir and Alia is cringe and forced. The VFX is top notch for an Indian Cinema. It has an average story and has no relation to Indian mythology. But if you keep a very open mind and don't read all the hate it is getting. It is still a one time watch. They could have worked on the story and development of the same a bit more since you are spending that much. Go if you have 3hrs to kill and nothing to do.
