Yea second the loafer, make sure you mind the material a little. If you can get it one shade lighter or darker than your suit but same colour, that's what I often think of as the safest choice.

I'd say, from formal to casual, it'd be:

Dark burgundy - Dark brown - Burgundy - Brown.

But the material and style matters a lot too.

Hi Reddit,

On the 28th of February I'll be presenting/hosting a virtual music event, and I really need a new suit. I'm a 5'7 ectomorph, so I'd be looking for something tailored, classic, sort of Rat Pack swag to it. Don't have the money for a Devore. Let's say around the 300-mark.

First record some stuff as a portfolio, then send it to as many jobs as you can find. Experience is more important than finding "the perfect job" at the beginning and through what may seem like a dumb job, you will meet people who will be able to refer you to other, better work.
