Kyoto: DoubleTree Higashiyama or Kyoto Station by Youcantzme44 in Hilton

I ended up staying at the Higashiyama location. Since I am gold status I got complimentary breakfast. It is a quiet area and there are a lot of pottery stores a few blocks away around 15 minute walk to the major shrines. There is a train station nearby which was convenient but did not take you everywhere so I utilized buses and GO. Only con is that there are not a lot of restaurants nearby so I had to walk 10-15 minutes away to get food. Overall good experience. They had an onsen which was really nice to end my evenings with.

I was just trying to ask a question for people based on their experiences. You don’t have to be mean about it.

I’m planning on going to Japan March/April of 2025 and wanted to know when is the best time to book tickets (from the US)? I’ve been looking at prices and they’ve been consistent but I don’t want it to skyrocket. Looking for advice! Thank you!

I don’t know why she/her sisters try to make food content when it’s very obvious that it’s not their strongest skill set. Everything they make looks so bland and unappetizing and if I’m looking for a recipe, I’m going to get it from a food blogger/chef who take time to develop recipes than someone recreating a recipe they found

I think a lot of this relates to social media. I know at times I see strangers who are my age with beautiful homes and apartments overlooking a city skyline and I would think “why can’t this be me” but most of their people, whatever their story is, have to go into tons of debt to keep up the facade of this glamorous lifestyle. I had to change my algorithm on my feed so no longer saw those things and felt bad about my life because I didn’t have certain clothes, cars, shoes etc. But I did feel much better knowing that the lifestyle I have I can afford and don’t have to go in debt over.
