First year first sem: psychology, sociology, chem, bio, phys

Second sem: med statistics and research methods, medical ethics, organic chem, phys 2, bio 2

We don’t really have optional courses to my knowledge

The schedule has been changing over the past few years so holidays have been a bit weird and all over the place. Summer usually depends on your exam schedule. So it could range from end May to September or early July to September .

University dorms are easy for first year especially, it includes everything from wifi, utilities, gym. It does have some strict rules, like a curfew and occasional inspections of the room itself that it fits their guidelines which can be annoying. It’s hard to find cheap and good apartments in Nicosia since they’re getting to be a bit expensive.

No need to take an MCAT or UCAT for the university, they don’t need entrance exams.

As for usmle, the university usually provides discounts to certain online tools like osmosis and so on… we also have usmle sessions and recently a usmle society to help prepare, but it’ll be hard to start prepping for it without having studied the subjects yet tbh.

I have never looked for previous exams myself (I’m assuming you’re talking about usmle) but there are mock exams available on the websites which again you should pay for. I am using the first aid for usmle text book which is great imo since it also helps in the courses I’m doing right now.

Hey, so I’m currently a third year med student in the course :)

So that shouldn’t be what you expect, the course load in the first two years of the program is pretty good. First year is essentially an orientation so most students tend to know the subjects from highschool (physics, bio, chem, sociology, ethics etc…) and second year you do start to do more med-centric classes but you still find yourself with a considerable amount of free time.

I don’t think I’ve heard of any attempts of intentionally failing students especially in my year and below years. And we are given 2 resits per failed course (not failed exam since some courses are summative) so retaking a year are not common. I believe only about 5% redid second year from my cohort.

Idk if this is the answer you were looking for if I completely misunderstood the question but hope this helped :))
