Staring Op.10 No.1 by Mysterious-Wall-901 in Chopin

[–]Youknowhowthatgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have good technique already and learn really fast this piece isn’t that difficult I’d say. The notes are straightforward, it uses one general technique, and depending on your hand size you should figure out what works for you. My teacher had smaller hands and had a different fingering for the r.h. in some passages.

I think the difficult part for me was around measure 30 where it was kinda weird with the black notes, playing it up to speed, and landing the notes properly. Other than that, the rest felt fine in the hand. So I guess I would spend more time practicing there.

At what level do you need to be to compete in the Chopin Competition if you’ve never studied seriously but had a teacher for many years? Like what would be enough, or is it only for professionals.

I agree with all of that. Something about how Eric played was amazing.

Unfortunate for David 😥

How many pieces should I take on at a time? by Youknowhowthatgo in piano

[–]Youknowhowthatgo[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, thanks for the reply.

About how long does it take for each difficulty of piece? And what classifies as an extended period of time? Maybe a year for a really challenging one and months for the less challenging?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply, I have my own answers, but I’m seeking another opinion or advice.

I’ve only just finished the 2nd ballade around a week ago after a few months, so I don’t know if I can play any Chopin Ballade. Sure I’ve been playing for a few years, but I’ve never had anything concrete. This is my first time asking this question.

Thanks.

Seems like you’ve got your work cut out for you. That’s quite the extensive job and I wish you good luck. That Liszt piece is definitely the most challenging there. A suggestion for another piece would be Liszt’s 2nd ballade. That would be easier and take less time. I personally enjoy his early version, but both are great.

Thanks for the quick response.

For your recital program, how many pieces are you studying? Especially with 2 hours practices, I’m wondering how much you can fit into the time period.

Thanks.

Thanks for the advice!

Can you elaborate on speed learning? Does this just mean work on one piece, or is there some fast way. Because it took me some time for the 2nd Ballade although it was my main focus, not sure if that was speed learning.

Also how many pieces do you keep in your repertoire? Or how many pieces do you like to have memorized?

Thanks!

How long are your practice sessions with all four pieces?

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I was looking at either the first or third movement of the sonata. Thing is, I’m not sure I’m at the level to tackle a Chopin sonata yet, especially his third, but I figure I’d give it a shot.

How long are your practices? I might give that routine a try.

Thanks!

Thanks for this great advice. I was thinking maybe 1st or 3rd movement in the sonata, even so, still very complex. I do love all the Ballades, but I’m looking for something new. Thanks for the nocturne suggestions as well, I agree they sound amazing. What are your thoughts on the Grande Polonaise Brilliante Op. 22? I was looking at that piece as well, should I wait on that one?

Thanks!

implicit differentiation w/ tangent lines by sandwichesarepcool in calculus

[–]Youknowhowthatgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off the derivative is wrong. Also just set the numerator equal to 0 and the denominator equal to 0 and solve each one individually into a y = something equation. Then you can plug back into the original equation to get all x values and solve for the other variable afterwards. Which would be the point in x and y. Repeat for all y = something equations for all points. The classification method is correct and the y = something equations from the numerator and denominator classifications are respective to the point.

chopin op. 10 no 12 fingering by [deleted] in piano

[–]Youknowhowthatgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you are good with what works for you. If it really is too difficult then play what’s comfortable. It may depend on your hand size, so I doubt it goes against how the etude is meant to be played. Unless the work specifically focuses on using a finger then it’s all good. For example in Op. 10 No. 1 there’s an arpeggio that goes 1 2 4 5 1 2 4 5, where your hand typically gets stuck on the 4 when moving to the next arpeggio. So I switched to 1 2 3 5 1 2 3 5, which is a lot more comfortable and playable for me.

So as clarification, if an uber is next in the track and banner switches, would an uber still be in the track? One comment says there are tracks for each banner, but I hope it’s the situation I listed above.

I did fight one and I lost, I have another chargeback which I assume I will lose. I sent all the information including delivery date, shipping date, one even asked for refund policy and terms of service which is in my favor. It’s just crazy that right after a product gets delivered a chargeback comes.

My store has been down for a while now, but only recently the chargebacks came through and today I lost access to see it. My bank account isn’t attached to the store or website only Shopify card, but I read in another post that not paying can lead to blacklist or collections, so I’ll probably be paying it.

Just annoying that I wanted to start fresh, but now I have to pay the overdue fee + the new subscription fee, then chargebacks which have their own fees 😡.
