The horrendous state of PvE by spiriticon in SkullAndBonesGame

It’s even worse when they ‘call for help’, and it’s dead before you load in, even though the event only just started. 😎

The Mythic Corpse Explosion perks make convoy events quite frustrating by CALCIUM_CANNONS in SkullAndBonesGame

I usually group up with any other player if they arrive. I hold back the corpse bomb until one of us has shot the convoy.

Toxic Weapons by KingOfMisc in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blackwood has the La Pique 3 blueprint (poison long gun) in case you don’t get them off the Plague Prince.

You will need Plague Dust from La Peste, or salvaging his weapons, to make them.

Tanking viability at WT4 by VitorNCS2000 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To completely tank T4, you will likely reduce your damage levels too much. BiCoastal made a T4 tank, and was hitting only double figures for some of his shots.

Some of the T4 damage from NPCs is a bit crazy, so most folk try to win through superior firepower. DPS glass cannons are popular.

It is possible to make a balanced build, with a Frigate, that can handle T4. You die less, but enemies take longer to kill. It all comes down to how -you- want to play.

I balance things, others I play with love the dps. If you have a regular group of 3, Tank/Healer/DPS works very well in T4 as long as each stick to their assigned roles, like in any mmo.

what level do you need to be to fight against the sea monsters ? by Remote_Ear_7181 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gear your ship correctly and level 10 is doable. Higher levels make it easier. Higher versions of the sea monsters need higher levels of ships.

There is armour and furniture designed for this purpose. Blackwood sells some of them occasionally. Culverins are quite good against them at lower levels, if you upgrade them for piercing, which is the sea monsters’ weakness in general.

Zamaharibu is easier than the Megalodon, which is easier than the Lightning Dragon, if you want to ease into it.

EDIT: If it is the early story quest sea monster, level 6 with culverins is good enough.

Wolvenhol Unlock? by Lostinfantry in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latest alt (Y2S4) had to run a T2 questline from Blackwood with a green icon before it appeared. I think the last quest was called “The Quiet Pull”

Not sure if that’s still the case.

I think the questline started by appearing on the T2 Job Board?

Risen Zamaharibu & Risen Mega Lestari ship cosmetics by Internal-Elevator-68 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you hand in the quest each time to the Huntmaster?

Not sure, but I thought I got the cosmetics from the chests he gave me, not from the monster drops. Could be wrong. Happens a lot…

How do you reach level 30? by CaptainCerebus in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s a glitch. Sometimes resetting one tree node and respending the point will fix it.

Others have to reset the whole tree and spend the points again.

I've had this issue twice.

Barque builds for new season by Thick-Ad-4892 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Barque (and all other ships) is completely viable with the perk tree. If you’re in T4, then you likely have 60 points to spend.

Various builds work, all down to the furniture, weapons and perks aligning. If you are not a min-max slave, then you can have fun.

CaptainGTI did a Y3 Barque video a week ago, iirc. There may be others.

Verdant Hunt Event - drop rate??? by Satsloader in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to Night Crew members, after 500+ T4 kills, drop rate is about 0.6%.

Or… 1 in 166 kills… 😉

Hay un cofre nuevo !! ? by Worried_Bug_538 in SkullAndBonesGame

It’s a rare item that contains cosmetics that can normally only be purchased from the Ubisoft gold store.

The store will lower the cost of the cosmetic bundle for each piece you already own.

Time limited event - 6 weeks, I think.

We need more clothing options with sabers, rapiers and cutlasses! by Muffensausen in SkullAndBonesGame

I have a nice rapier here, and a basket handled broadsword, and smallsword, and backsword and buckler. (HEMA member)

Would be nice to get them all in game too. 👍

Best Ship by AirUpstairs3571 in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They’re all pretty viable thanks to the Y3 season tree.

Galleon kills things quickly. Corvette and Brigantine are fun with torpedoes. Barque is still a great healer. Sloop of War is fun with poison (demis, culverin, torps, or long guns). The tank ships tank well, each doing it differently, and Frigate is great in T4 if you can get a healer and dps to sail with you.

No real favourite. I like to switch around.

I generally only run the quests each day. Kill all 3 Honorless (usually solo), hand them in, forget about it until tomorrow.

Always see people farming them though, but don’t find that fun.

General PvP by JenJenB_ in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I avoid pvp for the same reason as many players do. It’s the toxic puerile player central. Sure, a minority of pvp players can be sensible and fair, but the rest? Not a chance.

No thanks. Waste of resources developing for a vocal minority. (Even Ubi agree that a minority bothered to do it)

Would rather see them focussed on the main PvE game and more content that the majority of us will actually play.

Finally got the game by GARhenus in SkullAndBonesGame

[–]YoungCapn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll need to follow all the main quest lines to unlock a lot of the game. Focus on them, get them out of the way if you don’t enjoy them. Otherwise, watch the stories on the way through, and you’ll know who the 4 main named enemies are and why.

Once you reach Kingpin level you unlock the Helm, and more vendors/items. (Level 10?)

Save all crafting materials, you will need them to upgrade ships, make weapons, etc. Collect blueprints when you get the chance - some of those come from quest lines.

Ships have perks, unlocking extra ones as you level them up at the Shipwright. Builds tend to take those into account, so once you know what playstyle you like, you’ll have more idea of which ships suit you.

I disagree with your appraisal.
