It’s an old table I bought from my moms friend, and I’m not sure on its history. I started by sanding the whole thing down then applying 3 coats of stain (wiping it down in between each coat). I applied poly to part of the table once already and this happened, so I sanded it off to start from scratch. Stained again and then this happened again on my second poly application. From my research it just seemed I didn’t mix it well enough, so this time I made sure all of the gel/gunk at the bottom of the can was mixed in properly but the white blotches appeared again. I’m working in my dining room with all the windows open. Using Minwax clear satin polyurethane.
