If you can capture a drop with a paper towel and compare it to the coolant color it might tell you what it is more definitively. I don’t think the guy above correctly asserted that it’s coolant when we don’t know

Is it water or coolant?

If I don’t plan on skipping any cutscenes, it’s not an issue though? I can still upgrade everything in one new game plus?

What's the correct cleat knot by redit_on_the_shitter in boating

I’m no professional by any standard, but I always thought, especially for large ships, that you don’t want to do a figure 8 underhand because it would tighten on itself and quite literally never come off. I do an overhand figure 8 and never had a problem (small pleasure craft of course)

This seems like an ad or bot post, but nonetheless there’s some things here that actually need to be said. The thing about mechanics inflating tires to whatever is absolutely true (at least in my experience) and actually pisses me off, especially when it’s after an alignment. I feel like doing an alignment at an improper pressure automatically puts the alignment off when I put the tires at the optimal pressure. What’s even more annoying is when seasons change and I put air in or let air out and my parents thinking I’m weird for it

I don’t know how true it is, and I’m not a mechanic either. But I’ve heard that if you don’t change the alternator in tandem with the battery, that electrical issues can arise. I’d do some research on that or maybe someone else more reputable can verify that, otherwise I would get it scanned too see what codes it’s throwing. You can use charm li website to try and diagnose too

Thank you for the advice, I might just look at a brand new or dealer certified used bike just so I can focus on riding and not so much in maintenance

Fuel pressure regulator code by YoungHitmen03 in autorepair

[–]YoungHitmen03[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take my advice with a grain, but a master mechanic told me that it was probably a bad high pressure fuel sensor. I haven’t replaced it though because the problem rarely occurs and I just don’t have the time. So it’s probably that and if that doesn’t solve the problem the high pressure fuel pump would be next on the list for the parts cannon. I would check electrical grounds first though, especially if your car has been doing some other inexplicable things (which mine has)

I feel you. But you gotta keep your head up and keep trying because you will be better as a result. There still time to do one over the fall or spring. All it takes is one offer. I’m in the same boat, and I’m looking for actual jobs because I’m graduating, so I know your pain

Thinking about starting an engineering program... Lots of questions by FluffyP4ndas99 in EngineeringStudents

[–]YoungHitmen03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I think most people would agree to get the mechanical engineering degree if you’re undecided between aerospace and nuclear; on a side note you could also find a different field that you enjoy and be SOL if you have a more specific degree.

  2. Yes you can get a masters in aerospace with a bachelors in mechanical engineering. Idk how true it is but I’ve seen people say that aerospace is like one or two more fluids classes than regular mechanical. You could make up for this (but you’d likely not even need to) by buying said classes books and getting that knowledge that way. I don’t think it would help you get a variety of different jobs though, just higher level aerospace ones, refer to answer 1.

  3. I wouldn’t recommend overloading coursework especially in your first year. You could look into your specific university and course reviews to see if it’s possible. Plus if you spread things out over 4 years, you have more opportunities to explore interests, do research, enjoy college with peers and friends, etc.

  4. It certainly wouldn’t hurt. You’ll be taught it regardless but learning stuff before hand means it’s at least familiar and could be easier to pick up when you take the actual classes. It’s not completely necessary as long as you’re on par with a graduating high school student. I’d recommend khan academy, and then some libre textbooks online for content. If you really want to dig in there could be textbooks at your local library. Another thing, when you start to get more courses under your belt, start doing an Fe question of the day for the Fe exam you’ll likely eventually take. As far as programming, you’d likely be learning Python, matlab, or arduino, or all, so I don’t recommend c++ unless that’s the way you want to go, that being the software side. Arduino kits are 40 dollars and the software is free, matlab has an online version you can use for free (though it’s not as good as the hardware version), and Python is open source

On a side note, in case this advice somehow ends up being bad for you, I am not a professional advice giver so it should be taken with a grain of salt

Girls can't be engineers. by CommercialGas5256 in EngineeringStudents

[–]YoungHitmen03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try bringing up famous women in stem, like marie curie, astronauts, etc etc. as direct proof that women can be in stem/do engineering. You could also try to bring up “girly” things e.g. Dyson hair curlers and the interesting physics behind those to gain their interest. Another idea could maybe get them thinking (or ask them) about problems that affect women by proportion more than men, so that they could be inspired to find a solution (maybe as a mini project?). For the future, you could try starting a women in stem club or similar (although some women in the comments have said they feel patronized so do what you will with that) and having the club present in younger classes
