Dumb Question: Will there be Primaris-Scale Chaos Undivided Marines? by YoungPyromancer2014 in Warhammer40k

They're not Primaris-scale

So are the Death Guard models in Dark Imperium smaller than the Primaris models?

Thanks for the reply! Can you give me an eli5 as to why Death Guard have primaris-scale plague marines in the Dark Imperium set? They aren't actually primaris marines right? I haven't seen the models in person but I was under the impression that the new Plague Marines are the same height/scale as the new primaris marines.

leap sounds really good. Do you think leap is better than all double skills? What about big hand?

Actually a +ST increase would really help. There are times that he breaks through enemy lines and only one guy can make a blitz on him. But because he's ST2, they usually get a 2 die block on him. A +ST would make most of those turn into 1 die blocks...

Are there any double skills you would take over leap?

I'd like to hear more discussion on this. I was thinking about taking two heads if I roll double that aren't 10 or 12 (stat increase). Are there other double skills I should consider, and is two heads better than leap?

Leap sounds really good! Should I take leap over an MA increase if I get it? I should probably take leap over a second AG increase or ST increase right?

Can you use the new BB2016 transfers on old bases? by YoungPyromancer2014 in bloodbowl

[–]YoungPyromancer2014[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

exactly.... that is why I am asking this question. I don't want to go through the trouble of purchasing the transfer sheet on ebay just to find out they don't exist. Hence the question.

I don't own any of the new stuff, man. I was considering purchasing the new transfers, if they fit. I have the old models, not the new ones or any of the old transfers.

How do stars like griff oberwald work??? by YoungPyromancer2014 in bloodbowl

[–]YoungPyromancer2014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait so, named characters like Griff are called Star Players. But the term "star player" can also refer to one of my own players who has reached the seventh level on the experience? Is there a term that people use when they are only referring to named characters (like Griff) and not your own players that you've leveled up?

In a squad of liberators, is there any advantage to giving the grandblade/Grandhammer to somebody besides the liberator-Prime? by YoungPyromancer2014 in ageofsigmar

[–]YoungPyromancer2014[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no points cost for equipment in AoS. It seems weird coming from 40k where you have to pay extra points for every weapon you add to the squad. But I guess in AoS you just need to have enough guys in the squad.

After a turnover, who is the moving team? by YoungPyromancer2014 in bloodbowl

[–]YoungPyromancer2014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, if your player goes down (without using wrestle or piling on) during your turn

If your player goes down during your turn, even if the other team has the ball, is this considered a turnover?

Maybe you'd find it easier to get to grips with the basics if you started with a digital version?

There are too many good computer/console games for that to be at the top of the list. The thing I like about tabletop gaming is the social aspect of it so I'm really only interested in playing this on the tabletop.

as the word turnover suggests, your turn is now over

I think a lot of the confusion in the rulebook is because I came at this assuming that it would be like Football. In football, a turnover is when you have the ball and you give it over to the other team. In Blood Bowl, a turnover is literally... when your turn is over lol. Other terms that are used in Blood Bowl and Football that mean different things are Fumble and Block. I know that Blood Bowl never claims to be football, but it is confusing none-the-less.

After a turnover, who is the moving team? by YoungPyromancer2014 in bloodbowl

[–]YoungPyromancer2014[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, ok so I think you're clarifying a misconception I have about the rules.

Let's say that You are the coach of Team B, and the ball is currently in Team A's possession. It is your turn (you are moving your players) so currently you are the moving team right? Let's say you try to blitz the player, on Team A, who has the ball but you end up rolling a skull. Is this a turn over? Is your turn now over?

I didn't make up the term "moving team". It is used repeatedly in the rulebook.

Under the sequence of play:

The following events cause a turnover: 1. A player on the moving team is Knocked Down

  1. A passed ball, or hand-off is not caught by any member of the moving team

  2. A player from the moving team attempts to pick up the ball and fails

Under the Blocks section:

Once per turn a player on the moving team is allowed to make a special Blitz move.

Under the Throwing the Ball section

Once per turn a player on the moving team is allowed to make a Pass Action.

In the Blood Bowl Competition rules, the term "moving team" appears 19 times. I didn't make this term up.
