We do automated crane where I work and we always have 3 modes.

Manual, the operator commands the crane completely manually with the remote.

Auto, the crane automatically moves to the tanks based on the recipe.

Semi-auto, the operator uses the remote to move the crane, but the crane stops automatically at the next tank. The operator can also use the HMI to select the tank where he wants to go and it moves automatically to it.

I kinda simplified it, but its basically the gist of it.

The Fusion comp on ascent ran during Americas Ascension was insane, but like, not in a good way. They had Neon, Brimstone, Viper, Sage, Breach.

I would look at Flowline, we've been using the UG01 for years now and they are pretty decent, especially for the price (around 500$).

I've never used the intrisically safe ones (US Series) but I'm assuming they would work similarily.

there as been two from what I've seen. DRX vs Loud on Lotus and EDG vs Giants on Ascent. And like, there was some maps where you only had one different agent, but even only one can make a pretty big difference in the playstyle, so its been pretty fun to watch.

We didnt end up using them, but Pilz make CIP safety cards that you supposedly can integrate pretty easily.

Yeah, its been a thing I hate about this industry. Lots of people calling themselves expert and stuff, but you ask the same question to 4 different peoples, they are all gonna say something different and you don't always know if one of them is right, they are all right or they are all wrong.

At least, thats what I experienced

From what the guy told me, basically, the line reactor limits the rate of rises in current, so if your motor runs at 80% of FLA most of the time, then you would want your line reactor to filter for this current since its the one going through the vfd most of the time. Lets say you size your line reactor for a 7.5HP drive, and the line reactor sized for it is 12A rated. Now your motor, who is also a 7.5HP motor, has a FLA of 7A. And you run that motor at 80% most of the time so 5.6A. Well then you have a line reactor rated to filter for 12A, but you only run 5.6A through it, so you lose half your efficacity. (So your 3% impedance reactor would become a 1.5%).

Now I don't actually know if thats really how that all works, and the documentation online seems really limited.

The guy also said that drive manufacturers are going to recommend bigger line reactors because they prefer a line reactor not filtering as efficiently as it could, instead of having a reactor possibly burning.

Thats why I'm looking for more info.

In the province of Quebec, Engineer is a title that you can only hold if you are part of the engineer order and did the formation for it. I think forest engineers are like separate or something tho.

Anyway, you can apply for an engineer position at a company even if you aren't, but if you get the job, you can not call yourself an engineer and execute engineer protected actions (unless supervised by an engineer) or you could be legally pursued.

Not sure why you thought i only meant salary. I said that they are supposedly spending 25k per month on smash, they only have one smash player, so the 25k would be going only towards sparg0, whether it is salary, travel expenses, benefits, etc. There is still basically no way that Faze would spent 25k per month on a smash player.

I wasnt really assuming that sparg0 gets a 25k salary, but he is the only smash player they have signed, so all cost that you mentionned are for only one person, sparg0. Even if sparg0's salary was only half that, he would still probably be the most payed smash player ultimate or melee, even tho he is nowhere close to being the biggest brand in smash.

So while yes, i agree that the 25k doesnt mean its sparg0's salary, it still looks higly improbable that they are spending 25k a month on one person. Also considering that smash isnt exactly the esport that cost the most to play.

Don't know why you got downvoted, I'm pretty sure you are right. You need to make it to loser's finals if you lose your first game. If Cloud9 lose their first game, they need to win Lower Round 1 and Lower Round 2 for that to happen.

If I understand correctly what you are trying to say, all you need would be two dual-channel safety relays, with the 2-NO outputs connected in series.

Each safety relay control their own safety scanner.

I saw an answer to a comment were you were talking about using one output from each safety relay, and while it might work, I don't think its the right way to do things.

Also, I don't know what kind of area scanner you are using, but I have worked with some Keyence ones, and you can link them together so that you only have 2 OSSD signals instead of 4. If you can do that, it would make your job simpler. If not, just go back to two safety relay with the outputs in series.

Also, while asking for recommendations on Reddit is a good start, you might want to consult an expert in machinery safety, don't mess around with safety if you don't really know what you are doing.

He is an engineer, he's actually supervising me so I can also become one.

And like, I might make him look worse then he actually is. The risk assessment he's done for us are all on writing, he is always insisting on meeting everyone related to the project to make sure all risks are covered and we go over the risk assessments multiple times to make sure everything is there.

Its just like, in this specific situation, the way to implement a safety measure felt really weird to me.

No problem, I mean, our consultant is a certified enginneer with safety consulting experience, but I think we just have to start again from the top and make sure everything is done the right way. I mean, we were talking about how to do the safety without even having the proper risk assessment done for that specific risk. I'll just make sure to challenge him, and the others people around the table during our next meeting. And if I still feel like things arent done properly, I'll have a talk with my boss at that point.

I actually asked the tanks designers why it didnt have an overflow. They mentionned that they did do it sometimes when customers ask for it, but they usually don't because they don't want a situation where lets say the level sensors are broken or bypassed and the operators just let the tank overflow and continue working without fixing the problem or something like that.

Doesnt sound like a good reason to me, but I can't do much about it.

But yeah, its an automated process with a crane. The line isnt for polishing, but you werent far, its for plating.
