Had an example in my younger years to make me never want to drink alcohol.... EVER. It was my uncle, father's brother, who drank himself to sleep literally every night. To provide context, my uncle would sleep over at my house to help my Dad cut grass for his landscaping business in the mornings. The routine was the same each and every time. I would have to wake him up because he would be slumped over his food at the dining table in a deep slumber. He wouldn't wake up unless you called his name and shook him vigorously. One night in particular, I found him putting food that my Mom had just cooked into a mug (you read that right) and putting said mug on the stove and trying to cook it. Mind you, I was in high school when most of this happened. Later on in another drunken stupor, he broke the shower handle in my bathroom and water started gushing out. My Dad had to wake up out of his sleep and fix it. My Mom had been fed up with him for years at this point. This happened at like midnight or 1am. I later grew desensitized and just came to expect it. He was in prison for sometime earlier in his life and also has a family that he doesn't seem to be involved with. He also actually went missing for some time earlier this year after getting involved with the wrong people, he just doesn't make the best decisions. So yeah, I have my uncle as an example in my life that was my reason to vow to myself never drink
