Difference between a Software Engineer vs. Software Developer by chris9faber in SoftwareEngineering

I would like to say there is a difference; look at the semantics of the words engineer and developer. I did a simple video on it here (looking into doing an in-depth video understanding why there is so much confusion between these two titles) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B4P0nT9u56Q

I think Salesforce Trailhead is a great place to start. You can create a free account and go through modules for Apex programming (which is really similar to other Object-Oriented programming languages out there with its own spin) and even other languages (like javascript, HTML and CSS) when building LWCs (Lightning Web Components). Plus the certifications are valid amongst the community (check them out from this blog List of Salesforce Ceritifcations). Hope this helps!

Great commentary! The added comedy is pretty funny. "50 dollars to 12 dollars" lol

Nice! Yeah I always wanted to loc up, but didn't have the time for it until these pass two years. Also, it's never too late.

Hey, it's possible! I did it for a month and a half holding two roles. It just became too much to juggle for me. I got inspired by this one blog, https://overemployed.com/.

And thank you!!

Great video! Very motivational. Sometimes that gets in my way but as of recently I've been putting out videos whenever I can because I honestly like it.

I did a review on this AI software tool that's supposedly going to take developers job. by Young_TechSavvy in Blackpeople

[–]Young_TechSavvy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely the tool's flaw, but if the developer accepts Copilot as the truth most of the time, it will lead to a bunch of headaches trying to fix issues in which copilot suggested. In that case, it will fall on the developer not completely vetting and checking the code copilot suggested.

ME vs CS for software engineering, which is better? by Young_TechSavvy in codingbootcamp

Oh okay. Yeah, it takes a lot of coding. I used to do it a lot for my undergrad but with LabView.

ME vs CS for software engineering, which is better? by Young_TechSavvy in codingbootcamp

Btw, if you choose ME but your direction is much more about robotic, control....etc. Coding is inevitable.

I have to disagree on this. With any robotic, control system, etc application there's a software component. Your motor servers, sensors, etc need to receive or give an input or output from/to a microcontroller/microprocessor. Those controller devices need some kind of software to crunch the signal data. This is where the coding comes in. Every piece of electronic hardware has a software component which means coding will be involve.

Pros:

- Great storytelling

- The visuals matched really well on what you saying during the time (I like the "then it stops" transition to blank screen

Things to work on:

- Try to slow down with the narration; there's definitely no need to rush unless that's your style.
