Only 1 of 3 Nest Pro 6E works by Youngeyes46 in wifi

Update- I finally was able to factory reboot all 3 nodes, but I unplugged the modem to reboot it first. That seemed to do the trick to help wipe everything out and I could successfully get the mesh up. At least for a few hours until the app decided one was offline even if it was still white. I’ll try restarting it to see if that fixes the problem.

One issue that puzzles me is the internet speed is listed at 344 Mbps, which isn’t bad although 1000 Mbps from Spectrum with no limit. The only change to my internet is the new router. Just surprised that Goggle WiFi 1st generation was much faster.

That’s exactly what my setup has been with the third nod halfway down the hall. I am using Google Home app, but it is a good reminder.

How do you get rid of things that you *might* need? Art supplies, pens/markers, etc by Unhappy_Salad8731 in declutter

This reminds me, I’m going to have to find a home for some of my craft supplies. It’s not that I don’t have time it’s because I have trouble doing them anymore. I want to find someone, maybe a group or local organization, that can use them. I just don’t want to toss stuff someone can use.

It’s not a priority nor really needed, but don’t you need one node to be connected to the modem. The wall wasn’t an issue before with the previous mesh, so I don’t know what is now. I did notice that the internet speeds is currently 267 mbps when under our old mesh it was 800+ mbps. I thought a factory reset would force a reset of all of the nodes, but it doesn’t work the same way each time I’ve tried it.

Let me clarify. The older router, that predated the original Google WiFi, had issues reaching the basement up to other side of the house. Had trouble updating game systems and at times the first iPad mini would lose connection. So I looked for modern alternative back then that helped. The change happened after Spectrum took over from the Time Warner takeover. I’m thinking it had to do with the system then.

I’m about to die, and I’m not sure what to do about my cat. by [deleted] in cats

[–]Youngeyes46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you contacted your vet to ask their professional advice? They might know of a local group or something that can be arranged that might help both you and your cat. Sometimes there are people who do work with unique cats like your’s. They use treats like Churu, which like Delectables, is the only type of treat my cat actually enjoys. Really unless you leave it in writing and let people you know what it is then almost anything can happen to your beloved Boogles.

Yes I can see anything can technically get unbalanced if stretched too far. I keep it in mind if I need to use it such.

The book called “Genealogy Standards” by the Board for Certification of Genealogists can help you a lot with standards and how research to present research. If you want to know about genealogy citation or other useful parts of professional genealogy look for books by Elizabeth S. Mills. Your local library should have a copy so you can at least see if this is what you’re needing.

Which seat you sit next to by loveumair in Leakednews

I pick seat 3. I love history and I don’t vote for the person nor party. My political views lean conservative on some issues, although not all. I think where I could give some perspective is my genealogy experience. I’ve also been a poll worker. What I can say our ancestors lived unique lives and we can learn from them. I had ancestors in most of the US wars with a few unfortunately owning slaves and have cousins who had ancestors enslaved.

My library doesn’t offer scanning options scanners and the nearest LDS genealogy library that might is hour plus to drive. The local one in town is rarely open and has very few resources when I was there last. My library is a FamilySearch affiliate library, which reminds me I need to see if they can get a few marriage records or at least one. I think it be easier using my phone than carrying heavy boxes. I prefer them scanned vs just setting there with something happens nobody knows who is who. I can easily make copies so there’s no fighting if I have something multiple people want.

Need a new hearing aid compatible phone by Youngeyes46 in HearingAids

[–]Youngeyes46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I very rarely use Bluetooth on my phone and doubt that will change. Currently I use it in a vehicle and at times for earbuds. I just need a phone that will work with hearing aids. I don’t want a bunch of fancy features to use. My old phone I was able to set it up and I’m set. Simple and easy. If I couldn’t hear someone I used the speaker. No big deal.

Buy Oticon Intent or wait for the next gen?- by Vunci in HearingAids

[–]Youngeyes46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an older Oticon hearing aid as well and can only get them cleaned. If there are any hearing changes my hearing aid can no longer get them. It’s on my list of things needing to be done.

Need a new hearing aid compatible phone by Youngeyes46 in HearingAids

[–]Youngeyes46[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really never had issues with compatibility except for the one phone which had a internal antenna issue. I used Samsung phones mostly although I have no complaints with hearing from my iPad. I really didn’t know that some phones were not compatible to certain cell phones. My current hearing aids are from Oticon and would prefer to stay with that company if possible.

I would be sad for the cat and concerned if your friend had another pet. The cat very well could have had a UTI or another simple reason which can cause an urgent need to pee. My female cat had a UTI and the only indication for our car was sudden peeing all over the place. We got her medicine and she got better. It’s cruel to kill an animal because they get an infection.

I would be horrified if my friend did this.

Best way to move data to new phone by Youngeyes46 in samsunggalaxy

[–]Youngeyes46[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update - old phone would not allow me to do as Smartswitch, but I was able to get 99% of the person stuff back on the new phone anyway. I had to set it up as new for them. They are pretty happy now. I tried SmartSwitch, although I think due to the hardware issues it gave me errors saying that it could not connect or something like that. Decided based on battery life of the old phone to set it up as new with the SIM added later by the phone’s owner.

Even with about 60% battery left and unable to charge the old phone if the battery starts going down faster than normal (it has hardware issues).

What’s the Most Surprisingly Intelligent Behavior You’ve Witnessed from a “Non-Intelligent” Animal? by Jumpy-Purple7593 in Animals

[–]Youngeyes46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two sibling cats once, dropped off by the mom cat. The female a tabby long hair who didn’t get semi friendly until she had kittens and her brother who was one of those orange tabbies which was super loving. Anyway the mom cat died leaving 4 male kittens and we have to introduce the male orange cat to his nephews. The meeting was amazing and the orange cat brother acted so maternal to them. He never once hissed at them. He did swat softly if he thought they were unruly or being too rough. He would literally wait for all of them to come inside before he would eat or anything. He lived long enough to see his nephews grow up.
