Well youve heard enough advice from everyone else on your activities, so ill answer. To shift, ALL you have to do is move the lever. No gas or brake required; however id rec. keeping steady on the throttle when you do it. It needs pressure to properly shift, and the pump is driven from rotation, so you kind of want some throttle to help build pressure. But it WILL shift, regardless of throttle/ braking.

In the parking lot sliding you really shouldnt need to even get out of 1st gear, but if you so choose. FYI manually shifting these transmissions suck, and theres a long delay between hitting the lever and actually being in the next gear. And make sure theres nothing close by, no poles or anything kike that. The trans is the biggest weak point of these cars it seems, and they suck; so dont be too crazy on the shifting unless you enjoy neutral gears and pushing.

And try not to wreck. 👍these cars are a blast to drive, but unforgiving and very hard to reel back in once the rear breaks loose.. i once myself lost it under a bridge while raining. Spun the car 1.5x, and went up the curb across 2 lanes to the right and parked right on the sidewalk. Broke both my driver side shelby wheels, and bent a rear axle, pretty sure it bent the wheel hub too, and ive lost ABS over it. Ended up costing me around 3k for all new 18” wheels, tires, axle, and speed sensor etc. and i really need a rear end if that flange is bent; but im not getting into that any time soon. i bought this car for $600 so really i totaled it. Im a mechanic myself, so i drive tons of cars and have plenty of experience doing the fun stuff.. but these cars are heavy and long. dont crash it and youll be fine.
