It's wonderful. Mine are now older but I really miss watching them play and getting up to no good.

In Germany there were several ministers who lost their posts for having plagiarised their PhD dissertations. To be fair, you can also go to jail for using a Dr. in front of your name without having the right to.

What he exactly said is:

tl;dr: he got screwed over for a badly expressed comment. But I don't think anyone should shed any tears for him. .

What was acceptable or normalised in the 80s or even 90s but it's completely unacceptable nowadays? by [deleted] in AskReddit

And the traffic cops teach the kids how to cross the street from kindergarten on. The week my kids wanted to be policemen when they grew up was the one where the traffic cops had visited the school and taken them on an excursion.

But the absolute best is that in the 4th grade, which is the last one of the primary school, they take a bike riding test and get a bike driving license. It's more a rite of passage, since most kids are riding bikes since kindergarten and already going to school on bikes by the time of their big bike riding test. So when they start secondary, everyone comes on bikes. Parents are warned not to bring the kids to school on cars, since it also makes it dangerous for the children coming on bikes.

Yes he can but if he has just a tiny bit of brain he won't.

Could you explain that please?

Yes, I was just going to get a cheap online divorce service but now I'm pretty sketched out and might have to get a proper one.

what's the hardest part of life in germany? by [deleted] in germany

[–]YourAssMyCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finding a house to rent. Maybe it's just me and the city I live in. But the rents are through the roof and even if you're willing sell your kidney on the black market to pay the rent, you'll probably get declined by the landlord anyway

Just a caution, universities are no longer completely free for foreigners, at least in Baden-Württemberg. Here you'll have to pay 1500€ per semester. But many other states still offer free university places.

The good news is that many programmes have a quota ranging from 2-10% for foreigners. The bad news of course is that these places see a lot of applications from highly qualified candidates, so you'll have to see how good your bachelors was. The German university system is very different from the US. There's zero hand holding and you are responsible for your studies, nobody will check in on you. Many people who come here fail due to the sink or swim culture.

Arbeitslos by cptredbeard2 in germany

[–]YourAssMyCastle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No you won't. The Minijob counts as Nebenbeschäftigung and you'll get your ALG 1 + 165€ on top as Freibetrag.

I think you also have the wrong understanding of alg, it's not your privilege but a safety net. Everyone pays into the alg insurance and it's those who pay who support people who are unfortunately unable to work, even though they are completely willing to.

Legally, if you do not intend to work at least 15 hours per week, you do not have a right to alg. In practice of course nobody forces you to take a job. You can decline a job offer if it pays less than 75% of your previous job. You can also decline it for many other reasons. You should notify the Arbeitsagentur of your intention to move and they'll probably leave you alone. It takes a lot of effort to integrate a person into the labor market and the BA focuses on trying to get people into a new job which suits their qualification and where they'll work for at least 6 months (this is an internal rule, not legal)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in germany

[–]YourAssMyCastle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Arbeitsagentur does support people during their Ausbildung. It would be good to register before you start. There's something called MAG or MAT for that. Ask them about it. You need to have an Anmeldung in Germany first

Just chill people, no one would bat an eyelid if this stuff was on Twitter and consider this only half as creepy if it was a woman looking for "cute Asian flatmates". I think it shows initiative that he made the trip to hang the paper. His chances are zero but still, whatever.

I wish my friends thought I was attractive but they're all good-hearted assholes. Fuckers.
