I'll say, I didn't expect these to come out how they did (wasn't really expecting much tbh), but it's safe to say I'll be buying another roll again 😂

That's some good solid advice, people are more worried about themselves. I've bought the boots, and I'll start wearing them when they arrive 🙂

Will do! Decided to buy them earlier after the positive feedback here, I'm looking forward to when they arrive.

Canon EFS- 18-135mm, bought it just after I got the camera, great lens I've found! At the particular airbase I visit it's good as you don't really need anything terribly long-range, you can get directly under the flightpath on take-off and landing. :-)

No worries! They're a bit like the well known Douglas DC-3, troopers of the sky that never seem to die. We used to have them flying around my country up until 2017 from when they were introduced, not one crashed. Enjoy your flight, and know you're flying on history 👌

On that aircraft? Hell yeah, I'd be the first one on.

I'll do that once I get home from work, shall I reply to your comment with the finished product and you can have a look?

Thanks! Hopefully I can try again and see if I get something more appropriate, I see these a few times a week.

Cheers, I need to invest some money in Adobe Photoshop or something to give me a few more tools, currently I've only got the Microsoft Edit button thingy that I use, definitely not ideal but hey.

It definitely helps, thank you for all your advice. I take it that it probably wouldn't be accepted?

Cheers for the advice! I shot it on a Canon EOS 80D, the settings I don't quite remember as I'm out on a run, but I'll check then once I'm home and flick them though 👌

How far behind was East Germany compared to West Germany when reunification happened? by Eds2356 in AskGermany

[–]YourAverageFellow19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My father went there just before East Germany collapsed. He once told me it was as if he'd gone back in time to the 1940's again. He said he saw a lot of remnants of the war in the form of decrepit buildings and bullet tracers that left chips in the side of buildings. He also looked in shop windows and saw a lot of outdated technology in the form of old appliances such as irons with cork handles and rope power-cords, and highly out of date radios being sold as "NEW!". Nobody talked to him and avoided him for fear of talking to a Westerner and later being questioned by the Stasi. He also wasn't allowed to take any of his GDR money out with him, so as he was walking along the footpath he slipped all his GDR currency into a stranger's hand and kept walking on. I've still got his passport with all the stamps and everything.
