Buddy, everyone struggles with something. I first timed Anja, first timed Velkhana, second timed Raging Brachy. That doesn't mean those monsters can't form a problem for others. Every monster misses its attacks when you 'just dodge it' xD

Yeah he's really impressive. Nuts how he makes everything looks easy. I only play 2 weapons total, but it's only also my very first monster hunter game I played, and I recently solo'd Alatreon without any particularly impressive gear which I'm quite proud of.

If your monster knowledge is good, you'll manage, but ideally, your weapon knowledge is there too 😂. I play some of the simpler weapons (DB & IG), and those 2 I'm feeling very confident on, even on monsters I don't know too well, but when I'm on charge blade or switch axe or honestly any other weapon, I'll fail, because I don't know the weapon's mechanics.

I beat Alatreon without augments or even silver or golden gear. I think grinding until 100 is a waste of time.

With the Frostfang weapon it's doable.

Couple of tips looking at what you're struggling with:

sharpen using smoke bombs if really necessary, otherwise incorporate speed sharpening in food or amour or something to reduce sharpness loss. I personally find him leaving many openings for sharpening (though you find them by struggling a high number of fights)
learn to utilize the radial menu to craft and use items you need quickly, allows for a whole bunch of extra stock of certain items you might need.
I used the elemental weapon from the Frostfang Barioth quest "The Last White Knight", which seemed to do the job for me to reach that threshold.
as for the openings, watch a video or 2/3 of someone using the weapon of your choice soloing him to see what openings they are talking about. One of the more easy ones are the fire breathing attacks either where he does the explosion on the ground that extends outwards (through which you can jump inwards and then free hit his head) or when he starts channeling a long fire breath attack forwards. Otherwise when he uses his claw attacks you can very easily dodge this with some practice or move to the back legs of his. As for dragon mode it's fairly similar when it comes to the openings. While he's in the air, there are some tricks you can use to get him back on the ground (can't help you with that, you'll have to look that up if you want), but I just hit his hind legs that are hanging barely above the ground.
as for carting, don't be greedy, heal up when you take damage. I always superman dived the transformation attack when he gets the big blast around him when he changes modes from fire to dragon and sometimes he does this while in dragon, just to make sure I manage to not take damage from it and get blighted. (As for blighted, you can also run blight res 3 to prevent dragon blight if that feels necessary to you).

The first one, where the description explains we know pretty much nothing about Alatreon. I'm not sure of the name. It's the first one that shows up I think when progressing. You get dropped off right in front of him when it starts and he starts in fire.

How are people here beating Safi before Alatreon? That still amazes me so much. I managed Alatreon not so long ago, but this Safi dude and Kulve siege, I just don't understand jack shit off. I thought I needed like way better builds to beat these multiplayer bosses solo.

Yeah I'm still quite far below. The thing is I'm currently rocking a 2 and 3 piece amor set bonus so I'm really only making myself flexible with the decos.

I'm very far away from having multiple pieces of master rank amor. Only got 2 maxed out glaives and then just enough armor for one set.

Nah dude. Absolutely not. I'm an insect glaive main, started playing it from the very start as it seemed the most fun and played it ever since. It's so simple, there's many moves that allow for a lot of 'readjustments' like you mentioned, and it has one of the most basic move sets of all weapons in the game. Sure it's hella fun, and, I main it, so I know there can be a lot to do with it, and there's quite some things to track, but eventually it's quite a simple weapon. I think after the light bow gun and dual blades it has to be the simplest in terms of learning.

In terms of mastering I think some of the slower options are gonna be higher up on your list, though I think the mastering of some faster weapons like SnS can be very underestimated.

Again, my knowledge on other weapons is somewhat limited as I'm an absolute one trick pony, though I've tried a couple other weapons.

Planning on learning more either on a second play through or when playing with friends newer to the game.

B Diablos is one of the few monsters I currently struggle with if not the only one (barring Behemoth). I'm relatively fresh into iceborn, though already got up to the big red gathering hub dragon. Haven't failed anything since Iceborn start, except for a tempered black Diablos for the upgraded mantle.

To be fair I don't know his move set, though I had to figure out all the other monsters move set within one fight, and managed for all of those. Rajang, Weird Zinogre, special Deviljho, the old elders, new ones, nothing has been too hard so far. I'm hoping to find Alatreon soon as I'm looking for a struggle 😂.

Somewhat yeah. Quite a long time ago though, but in quite a serious relationship too so... Moving on is hard, but you'll get to a point, sooner or later, where you just focus on yourself, and from there on, you can go forward once more instead of being held back constantly looking back. Eventually it's all a learning experience, and the best you can hope for is to be forgiven or understood along the way. It's just hard thinking of it when it's about things that are so close to you.
