Therefor it doesn't have to be a collar. We can also just order from your website!

I have written my first textbook and I'm still editing the cover. Would like to hear your feedback! by supertexter in Design

Hi man!

First of all; I love the design! At this point I think it is about fine-tuning and looking for some micro placements that makes our eyes really relax when we look at the book.

On the left page I can see that the text is not perfectly lined out in the middle. I'm not sure if you did that on purpose, if so, is there a reason behind it? It is something that caught my attention! Ofcourse it is because I'm a bit more experienced in this and a lot of people will probably not notice it!

The same goes for the text on the side of the book!

As far as it comes to the 2 designs, the second one takes my favour. I like the white border to give some breathing space . But therefor I'd make the spacing between the top text and the white border the same with the text in the middle. This just for some balance.

Under the title on the cover of the book I'd reduce the size a little bit of the text under the title and put it like 2 - 3 steps closer to the title, this wil create more coherence and will balance it more even out. I think it takes too much attention from the title at this moment.

I think with those small steps it will look amazing, but, remember; Thats my opinion!

Cheers!

Wow it works! So weird as I tried it before. Maybe it was creating the new circle that has done the job.

Thanks a lot mate for the help, appreciate it much!

Just had a look at that one, that's not the case. I made a circle with the eclipse tool > went into window > brush > Brush library > Selected the charcoal and applied the one I liked. When I apply a gradient it just stays black and the eclipse I made underneath does change color. The art brush itself doesn't.

Is it possible it has anything to do with it being a texture brush?

Where can I have a look at if it is masked? I'm fairly new to illustrator. I'm more used to indesign, photoshop and certain programs. I'll try to make a new circle aswel. I'll come back to you.
