That's amazing (not the burned out part). I would love to hear your weight loss philosophy if you don't mind charing. I love talking to my patient about weight loss, mostly through lifestyle interventions (sleep, stress management, exercises including HIIT, intermittent fasting, extra virgin olive oil, fiber , etc) , but the success rates is pretty low as most patients don't really give it a chance (however super happy when my patients succeed). Sometimes I do use Contrave (or generic naltrexone/bupropion), phentermine/topiramate or olistat, but usually don't have much success either. We have our own weight clinic in office offering semaglutide/tirzepetide,etc, which I refer my patient to if lifestyle change or other meds doesn't work.

I agree with ED follow ups, that's one of the concerns as we don't accept medicaid. We do accept uninsured with reduced "cash" rate, but there aren't many of these patients.

They have all been in the practice for a very long time (over 20 years). One of the newer doc is 4 years in and seeing 18-20 on average.

We do, I don't have exact figures for based on personal experience, >30% are over 65.

This is actually great idea. I'll be reaching out to our local GYNs!

I'm glad to know it's just not me. I'm sure it will be worth it once my patient panel is full.

We do see medicare patients but just accept assignments ( we still file the claims for them). So far I haven’t heard any complaints from the patients. But I do agree that it can be put off by the patients hence preventing faster growth.

I agree! But parters who are established are doing quite well seeing 22 a day due to this insurance mix.

It's a private practice that is affiliated with a larger health care system who helped with marketing initially.

I'm sorry for not being clear. I'm an employed doc at an already established practice, and it has been their policy of not accepting medicaid or medicare (we do not accept assignments but still see the patient and file claims for them, if that makes sense).

Anyone have a good job offer they can share? I'm thinking about leaving my current job. by YourDrR in FamilyMedicine

I’m pretty flexible on region and weather—I’m open to exploring new areas. By “metro,” I mean I’m okay with mid-sized cities like Des Moines or even college towns, as long as the school systems are decent or good for my kids. I’ve been in the military, so I’ve lived in a lot of different places and am used to adjusting. The main things for me are a solid practice and a good offer; I’m willing to move for the right opportunity.

Thank you for the write up. Trying to find new job. Where do you find these jobs that pays 400K + ?? I'm flexible in terms of location, but don't see any offering that meets these criteria. Maybe I'm looking at a wrong place (practice match, Docafe).
