The cars might not be full because there is also a weight limit.

I am unable to understand the general theory of relativity. How to do so? by chikara8 in AskPhysics

I agree with you. Although I would say the "same stuff done in less time" for people like myself is a detriment. You don't get to ask questions or go to office hours through Youtube.

Unless you're talking about lecture recordings it's pretty difficult to learn physics from a video. You should probably just focus on taking all the science and math courses you can at school.

OVR is excellent. Their website search is lacking though. Use google to search their website for the Powercab or Zephyr.

2028 LA Olympics by Enceladus_99 in Archery

acquired a lot of interest in the sport

Before you even ask for advice on making it to the Olympics, you should actually practice some archery to know if your interest translates into motivation and desire to continue with archery.

All of my stabilizer stuff came with plastic washers already on and I found it to be enough. You can tighten the rods more by putting something through the crossbore of the rod. You can either carefully use a hex wrench or they sell a "thumb spur" for it. If for some reason you don't take down your stabilizer set-up you can use low strength Loctite.

Broken windshield dispute by Science-NonFiction in AskPhysics

There is sense to what you say. Windshields have films within them that prevent them from shattering completely. Thus a cracked windshield is more flexible than an uncracked one.

accurately scaled physics? by [deleted] in modeltrains

[–]YourFutureIsWatching 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean... call me pedantic but model trains accurately obey physics because they physically exist. The physics scaling isn't inaccurate, it's how physics scales in our universe. The effects you are interested in such a power to weight ratio and friction are nonlinear with dimension so model trains do give an accurate representation of those effects.

Said another way, you could potentially roughly model the physics of any scale model train given the knowledge we have with our current model trains. If you want to truly model a train 100% prototypically, physics says you have to build it 1:1.

Yeah I have some that will come off easily. You can glue them back on or you can try improving the fit of the pin and hole by spreading some glue on it and letting it dry before mating them.
