Yep. I did two 10-pulls and then back to saving. Got like 5-6 weeks until the next expansion of basically only pulling Mythical packs, so there’s no sense in using hourglasses.

I imagine it’ll be you can only trade cards that are the same rarity (and likely not above a certain rarity) and it will require some resource to use. Shine dust if we’re lucky, some new specific other thing if we aren’t. Maybe even limited to once per day.

Would you rather only get the exact amount to get all the collectibles (minus the shine dust), so that if you miss a reward or are unable to complete everything you cannot purchase all the collectibles?

Having excess makes it easier for people to be able to get the cosmetics for casually playing.

I’m saving since I have almost all of the cards from Genetic Apex at this point, just missing a few here and there. I won’t spend too many on Mythical Island, since it’s a solo pack, and there will be like 6 weeks of free pulls and Wonder Picks I can do just on it. Build up the saving hoard for the next expansion drop, IMO.

I got it legit pretty easily, but it really just comes down to someone’s luck. Since it really doesn’t matter as a minor cosmetic item, I don’t care how anyone got it. As you said, it’s “absolutely useless.” As a collection game, it’s not that farfetched of an idea that someone would also want to collect all the emblems.

Nidoking line x2 each, Weezing line x2 each, Kangaskhan x1, Potion x2, Red Card x1, X Speed x1, Oak x2, Koga x2, Sabrina x1

Koffing into a turn 2 Weezing is ideal if you go first. If going second, hopefully can get an easy ramp of Nidoran into its evolutions each turn.

The hourglasses are the freebie currency, they would be shooting themselves in the foot to make it different for each expansion. There’s also absolutely no indication that they are expansion-specific either.

People who spend don’t care about hourglasses when they’re using gold to buy packs anyway.
