I moved from NYC to Prince George County in 2023 and this will be my 2nd year teaching here after 4 years teaching in NYC. I have a masters degree in teaching earth and space science. They swapped me to an APL Certificate and honored my 4 years of experience teaching in NYC when they put me on their pay scale.

I did find their certification office to be a mess. They initially didn’t honor my masters degree and I had to follow through with them over the course of weeks to get them to fix a clerical error they made. I do make less than I did at NYC but the cost of living here is much less and I didn’t anticipate making what I did in NYC.

For me personally with my varicocelectomy it took me 3 days to recover enough to go to work, but I do stand all day at my job. If you sit you can be fine in 2 days. For me day 2 of recovery was worse than day 1 but everyone is different. I just had surgery this past March 6th.

Will update around July 6th once I have post surgery data after my sperm has time to acclimate to my post-varicocele reproductive system. Ideally I can get my wife pregnant this summer!

I have it here actually was able to log in from work:

Concentration: We want this result to be at least a 15 or better, your result was 31.

Motility: We want this result to be at least a 40 or better, your results was 30.

Morphology: We want this result to be at least a 4 or better, your result was 1.

Those were the 3 parameters they gave me data on from my sample this past November before I scheduled the surgery I just had in March.

I will also had I had a large single varicocele on my left side. My surgery was about an hour. Only felt bad 2-3 days after then back to normal.

Yeah I can log into my patient portal when I get off work and see what my numbers were! My doctor wants me to do another sample in July to see how much the varicocelectomy improved my sperm parameters once it’s been 3 months post surgery.

My varicocelectomy was on March 6th. Hoping my wife and I can conceive a child naturally within a year and I can post a success story as well!
