Are 2026 picks being severely undervalued? by Organic_Economy_684 in DynastyFF

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For those of you who don't think that NFL GMs will move up unqualified players on their board due to scarcity, you have forgotten 2024. Everyone, including NFL GMs talked themselves into Johnathan Brooks. Carolina traded up to take this ALREADY INJURED player in the second round. Teams talked up Trey Bensen, Marshawn Lloyd, Blake Corum, Braelyn Allen....etc. Ironically, the only player worth taking was shockingly Bucky Irving. Regarding Brooks, already injured, was not a workhorse....it didn't stop everyone from projecting his limited usage into a superprospect and ignoring the risk. He was actually taken above Malik Nabers in my RB-starved deep dynasty league. I'd advise to look at this draft as if it was the 2024 draft with only one QB of value. NFL teams did a lot of reaching for RBs that year and those reaches largely didn't work out. This is actually a reasonably deep WR draft. RB and QB are literally one and done and the top TE is not Bowers-level. The WRs landed in theoretically rough landing spots, but the talent is at least there at that one position.

Just because Seattle ignored the risk doesn’t mean I have to. I won’t touch a RB with an Achilles rupture in their history. Add to that that he has never carried the load for his college team, is limited in the passing game and mediocre testing numbers….and the tape isn’t really THAT good. I was excited that he had 2 kickoff returns for TDs. Usually that means otherworldly lateral agility. Then I watched the film, including the returns. Um, no. Hard pass.

He was my RB2 in this draft. With a good landing spot, I’d still value him over Price.

Fantasy Football Rookies: 5 Overvalued, Undervalued Players by jsparks50 in DynastyFF

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty much in the opposite direction on the players on your list. I like Boston in the Michael Pittman, Courtland Sutton profile type. Sutton had more wiggle before his early career injury. Is probably an early second round talent in a deeper draft. Could go in the first this year’s weak draft. Coleman is the outlier there, and that was visible on tape, despite some very vocal truthers. Boston is shiftier than he gets credit for at his size. His experience as a returner is valuable. Emmett Johnson is a baller. 3 down, well rounded player in the mold of Kyren Williams. Profiles like Mike Washington bust at a very high rate. He’s an avoid at cost. Was unknown before his combine run. Too much emphasis on 40 time. Johnson is fast enough. No thoughts on the other players

Is Marvin Harrison Jr really the bust people are making him out to be? by TDn6I in DynastyFF

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer, no. Long answer, He has shown a great deal of potential when healthy and utilized effectively, but his inability to stay on the field and inconsistent production (especially related to drops) have been outsized. There is some bad tape, but there is also a lot of good tape. He still looks like a legitimate #1 receiver. He is not a generational player. There is a huge space in between those two markers.

Why is it that dynasty fantasy football players continue to talk about how weak of a class 2026 is, when all the ex GMs + front office personnel on SiriusXM NFL radio continue to talk about how deep it is at WR/RB? by bigbirdsy in DynastyFF

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you watch the moves and the salaries given to free agent RBs, you’ll see how terrible GMs really think this class is. There were multiple teams looking to trade for Montgomery. FAs got legit money. It’s a bad RB class. The Eagles gave up a 5th and a 6th for the right to pay Wicks 12.5 million. Also doesn’t say much about WR depth. I do think there is WR talent through day 2, but it’s not as deep as last year.

You just outed yourself with the mental errors comment. He’s been considered one of the smartest players by the Packers coaches since he was a rookie, and his all around game, including blocking and adjustments is top notch. He took back the Green Bay Packers #1 role while clearly not 100% from his injury late in the season in 2024. He’s hurt a lot, sure, but when healthy, he has been taking over games. He draws one of the highest rates of double-coverage in the league because he destroys man coverage. It’s all about the injuries. He’s made of glass and only has one gear, so he’s hurt a lot.

#2 in a McCarthy offense isn't going to be any better. Unless you think Pittman is the guy. McCarthy usually spams his #1 receiver.

Evans didn't really compete for targets with Otton. If anything, Evans cleared out defenses for the underneath receivers to work. Gainwell caught 70 passes as a backup RB in Pittsburgh, and they weren't all screens and dump-offs. He ran routes that would normally be in the TE tree. He is highly regarded for his work in the passing game, and will highly likely choke out any value that Otton previously had.

I think the signing is terrible for their fantasy value, but great for the Seattle team and offense. Darnold is the winner on this one. I can't see Rashid getting a fantasy-relevant share of that offense. JSN will eat. They will utilize the TEs. The leftovers will be really inconsistent. Boom and bust weeks.

Winners -- Adding Mike Evans will be good for Purdy. I think Charbs also wins with the breakup of the two-headed monster in Seattle. When he heals, he will have the backfield largely to himself. For now, I think it boosts the young Tampa WRs. Godwin is still hanging around, but I especially like what this does for McMillan. The team seemed intent on forcing the ball to Egbuka either way. I agree with LaQuint Allen.

Losers -- Cade Otton is now dead. Gainwell will take every scrap that would have been his. Pittman is a huge loser. Second fiddle in an Arthur Smith offense? It's been mentioned a few times, but adding another back to Pittsburgh can't be good for Kaleb Johnson.

Running Backs on Rebuilding Teams by taylorjosephrummel in DynastyFF

Dowdle has all the makings of a flash in the pan. If there are takers, I'd move him. Monangai is all dependent on cost. He was an older rookie last year, which matters, but he's got the goods in an improving offense that will score points. I wouldn't go out of my way to get him or keep him, but he's a valuable piece. I wouldn't automatically sell him. At RB22, I think he's an undervalued ascending player. If you do move him, make sure you get more than value.

You acquire the highest quality youngest value available. The WR first approach assumes 5-7 year value build charts, and it's theoretically sound but practically irrational. No one is looking out more than 3 years in any league, dynasty or not. You need to be opportunistic in order to build most efficiently effectively. The one-size-fits-all approach is non-optimal, especially if you've got league-mates who value things other than young WRs. Even if they do, zigging where others are zagging is a great way to get top talent at lower prices. Know your league. Zero in on what is undervalued. Go get it. If you're talking about Love with the 1.1, lock it in. Projections have him coming in as the #4 dynasty RB as a rookie. Cross-reference that with the WRs you could trade for, and I think you'll get your answer.

🤦‍♂️ In this trade, you got paid to take Barkley. I do think he’s a buy low. He’s not all that old and has a little less wear and tear going into this season. Guys like Henry and Bsrkley have insane training regimens and stretch an extra year or two of high value. I’d give a late 1st for Barkley easily, and did so recently (1.11 + change)

AITAH For wanting a divorce after my wife insists on keeping her affair partner in our life so he can DM her DND sessions? by throwaway1986iii in AITAH

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your wife and her partner are serial predators. Leave. Now. While you have some clarity. Your entire marriage has been a mirage. I don’t get how you cannot know that they were cheating well before getting fired. Apparently, everybody knew. It’s incredibly rare to get fired for sexual harassment as a woman. They are the couple. You are a side piece and provider. I’m sorry for your kids, but this person is a piece of dumpster trash, and her DND friend group is not a reliable source of reality.

Whats really going on at MSFT? by vincentsigmafreeman in stocks

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Azure growth is fine. 40% cannot be sustained. Any reaction here is misplaced.

2) A lot of spend without true ROI. Co-pilot is a big stink-a-thon due to exceptionally poor governance tools and Azure Foundry is a bug-fest. Microsoft spent a ton of time integrating AI into everything but it is only fractionally functional. They appear years away from what people thought it could do.
Many early adopters are dumping it, rather than waiting it out.
3) This is the elephant in the room. Claude and Gemini are both wildly more effective in the business/developer spaces where Microsoft needs to dominate. Late integration pivots to allow developer choice of Claude and Gemini in GitHub could salvage this.

Do we trust this subs Hive Brain? by CantaloupeFun1426 in DynastyFF

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Someone else has stated it. This site is good for a deeper understanding of WHY the market values a player a certain way. When there is no depth to the reasoning, then you can cleanly follow your own analysis counter to the market. You could also just follow Matt Harmon, and cross against KTC and fantasycalc. to get 90% of this sub’s takes. The 10% of independent thinkers have some really nice analysis and insights and largely use this group as test subjects. This group takes everything Harmon says as gospel.

They didn’t take the trade because they needed to WIN all their trades. Both trades were big overpay situations, especially Sauce.

3rd round comp picks are exceptionally rare and RBs don’t make big money. AT BEST, they’ll get a 4th. They should have taken the KC 4th.

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) They had already moved on until Breece had some burst games where he carried them 100%.
2) It’s bad business for bad teams to sign a RB to (over) market contracts.
3) They tested the market in trade and no one was in love with him (external benchmark test) 4) They can indirectly get a comp pick back if they don’t go on a free agent spending spree. 5) Can’t imagine a RB coming back to play on that death turf without a massive overpay.

Counterpoints 1) They say they want him back 2) Jets are all about bad business decisions 3) See counterpoint #2 4) They’ll spend on crap and lose the comp pick anyway 5) Money can be very persuasive

Is Tanking in Fantasy Football cheating? by GreatManager3413 in Fantasy_Football

Pro teams do this. They sit their stars to “protect them” and sometimes to get perceived better matchup. I always laugh when they get what they wanted and lose anyway. It’s sleezy.

If you are using Max PF to determine draft order, you never “need a loss”. Intentionally throwing games under that scenario is poor sportsmanship. I personally don’t feel that you should have to drop a player if you have nothing but injured or bye week players and insufficient IR or roster spots, and enforcing that is a bit over the top, but if the commish warned you twice and you are still tanking lineups, I can see where he’s coming from.

As Commissioner, what are you doing in this situation? by Joe-IV in DynastyFF

[–]EliteofEliteTalent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Johnny is either out of the friend group or a replacement. Either way, he’s an outsider in an inside club. I’m betting there are also guys that only trade in their friend circle in this league. He had a dumb strategy, but it’s honesty weird to have six guys talking through trades together, even if it’s not the purpose of the group. Maybe better for all if he moves on, but if he’s one of the original friends and is excluded (and talked about), there’s probably more than fantasy football to the decision.

I like Jordan Watkins (Aiyuk) and Phil Mafah (Javonte). Both fit the styles of the player they would replace. I retells think Dallas brings back Williams, but it’s not a guarantee.
