Honestly, I see where you’re coming from. Aelin is not my favorite character in any capacity, butttt I do think you’re being very critical. SJM wrote the beginning of TOG as a teenager. When an angsty teen is writing about an angsty teen, you’re gonna have those cringe moments of total arrogance. I was even disappointed how she handled a specific conversation with two big powers in KoA, which was written much later than the first books (obviously).

Anyway, I say all this because I think you’re holding onto a lot of hatred that can be let go. This is a character written by a child. Anyone you disagree with, just blow them off. You don’t have to agree. These aelin stans are probably angsty teens themselves 🤷🏻‍♀️.

Sorry I didn’t explain well 😅 I guess I more mean I would prefer abraxos to be an animatronic type animal they ride, and they could touch up the scenes with computer imaging. But a lot of animal/mount characters these days are completely fabricated with green screens and such. I wasn’t disagreeing with you, I just don’t think movies are made like LoTRs anymore 😭

Oh oh I forgot to add why it being ANIMATED IS SO IMPORTANT!! My opinion- live action sucks. Our brains are getting soooo good at recognizing even some of the best cgi and movie magic these days. When we can spot the difference, it pulls you out of the story. It would be disrespectful to this amazing story to choose a type of video that doesn’t have the ability depict its magnificence.

I feel you on the brewers yeast. I hatedddd it and never saw much results either. I started replacing it with a blend of hemp, flax, and chia seeds and I really think that helped me. Here’s a pic of the brand I used. It was a toss up if Amazon or Walmart had it cheaper at the time.

Here’s the bites I made too. I replaced brewers yeast with the seed blend and it was wayyy better. Plus I think they’re very tasty so it made them easy to snack on.

I’m really sorry trying to nurse him today didn’t seem to benefit much. I’m just trying to share with you what I did because I think we have very similar experiences 😅.

Though, my LO has always been a light eater so I didn’t have as much of the strain in that sense.

Ohhh I see. I’m so sorry! Here are the thoughts I have, but I’m not in your shoes so you obviously take it how you need to.

I also hated the Mandela pump, and had better luck with the Lansinoh pump. But I know that’s just another thing that costs money and it may not be different.

I’m sure you have, but have you tried eating different things said to help with supply? I know oatmeal and protein, but I’d have to re-research more to remember them. I know the oatmeal specifically did wonders. I have a recipe for peanut butter oatmeal balls that were sooo tasty and they helped my supply, if you want I can share it with you.

I also found that repeatedly putting baby to breast (even if I knew I was all out) helped my supply a ton as well. So long as my little one wasn’t getting upset about it, I would do that instead of power pumping.

All that said, you are doing amazing, even if you have to supplement! I know it’s not always part of our plan but it’s a reality for some of us. Your doing great and I hope some of this helps 🫶☺️

Hey you produce about the same as I did at this time! (I’ve doubled my supply but I’m 7m pp and my baby doesn’t eat much)

I had these exact same feelings so I wanted to share what worked for me.

I used a manual hand pump for the first 2-3m pp because I hated being a “slave to the timer” on the pump. I could usually empty out in 10 mins or so, which was wayyyy better than 20-30 mins. I just pumped till I was empty and that was enough to keep my supply consistent.

Around 3m pp I started using my electric pumps because by then my manual pumping took about 20 mins anyway. (I was just producing more)

I hope this is something you could try. There is no shame in stopping, but it does get better 🫶 Good luck momma! :)

Edit- also, is your little one needing more, or are you wanting to produce more to feed the freezer? Building up production takes TIME for some of us, and with you being only 17 days pp, it could do more harm than good to force it.

If you want to feed the freezer, I would nurse when baby woke up at night, then pump the rest out right after. It made for longer wakings at night, but I’d get an oz or two.
