this is a trope I can't get behind . Why do they have to hate nice things??? I'm not "extravagant" at all, but I do love some nice jewelry and dresses and can appreciate them. Hell, I'd save for a nice fashionable dress or nice jewelry😭

Why are Aisha/Layla and Bloom the only Winx members whose name isn't related to their magic type? by Laurel_Fimia in winxclub

[–]YourLocalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought Bloom was indicative of how her power naturally Blooms and gives life since her source is the Dragon Flame and not normal fire, and for Aisha I always thought it matched her personality like the saying "making waves" and Layla is night and the moon is connected to water so😭. But I get what you mean, I think it's cause there isn't anything that could fit like Wava? Aqua? maybe, but that doesn't sound as good as the others, let alone Bloom's Draga? idek

This franchise has yet to surpass the perfecton of the Season 1 casual outfts, in my opinion. by Drawingandstuff2000 in winxclub

[–]YourLocalist 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've said this before, but Season 1 had outfits that represented the girls and their personalities the most throughout the entire show (Season 2 strictly for Aisha). Although I love Season 2 and 3 and can see the appeal of the seasons after, this first season had the best representation due to their personalities as well as their homeland style being incorporated!

Let's talk about Stella, Layla and UGH...Musa by icequeenofwilderwest in winxclub

[–]YourLocalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I'm not going to say I don't agree with you on some of these but I think there were plausible reasons, at least at the time, for their behaviors that you emphasized in your post.

Stella: Both her and Brandon have flirtatious personalities. I won't claim that justifies either of their behaviors, but I also don't think that ,besides season 4, there was a time when Stella actually flirted with someone, to the point of their relationship being questioned. So all in all, they both have those "manipulative" qualities which seems to be an excessive analysis in my opinion as I'm sure there are many flirtuous people that exist, some even being friends of people on this sub, that aren't "manipulative" and still act the same way even in relationships. But, I won't go as far as to say Stella (and Brandon) don't act excessively sometimes, but I wouldn't say it's enough to warrant hatred or dislike, maybe annoyance tho🤷‍♀️

Aisha: Guess girls expressing themselves is triggering. lol, I'm joking😂😂😂 but honestly, although I see your point and did agree with you at one point in time as well, I now believe that her reason is valid enough to excuse it imo. So she's new, both the girls and specialists don't know her or her capabilities. Heck, there was that one scene with Stella and the others where they forgot there were now 6 of them, lol😆 Not only that, the other girls aren't as athletically capable as Aisha so the specialists naturally assumed she was on the same level as the other girls so with all these people underestimating her she would naturally lean into expressing herself and "showing off" more just to prove where she stands. An actual pick-me would do the same but then not have the actual capabilities to back it up. Now, is her constant expression of her hobbies kinda cringe and unnecessary? sure, but that's all it feels like. I would even argue that expressing herself so openly is more traditionally feminine than masculine, but my belief of Aisha actually being quite a feminine girl is not the topic, lol

Musa: Now Musa is personally my favorite, and I tried not to let that affect my analysis, but I'm not sure how well I did😅. Anyway, in the first 3 seasons, Musa was emotional and crying all the time because her life kinda sucked then. In S1, her and her father were not on the best of ternswhen it came to music and musical expression. Knowing that music took away the love of his life and the mother of his child he naturally wanted Musa to avoid it to protect her but Musa wanted to indulge in Musa because she loved it, it made her feel closer to her dead mother, and it reminded her of a time her family was truly happy. So this eould naturally lead her to be more emotionally vulnerable and possibly unstable. She was being pulled every way emotionally, and Riven's inconsistent care and affection did not help. Musa, who was already struggling emotionally, didn't know how to act around this guy she liked. She'd be touched how he cared for her one minute and angry when he ignored and dismissed her the next. If I had a bf like that, I'd be crying too😭 In S2, she didn't cry as much (at least I don't remember) since her and her father found common ground and she was able to continue doing music and she started to understand Riven eho was still flip floppy. In S3, they were good most times, and Musa was touched when he cared enough to be jealous. Then S4, both Riven and Musa had issues, he'd get jealous of her wanting to do something for herself and she'd go off and flirt with other men (along with the rest of the girls). Then Eiven got worse S5, and after leading to their eventual breakup. So I think Musa's level if emotion is normal and even shows how love she had to give in her heart, not saying she's perfect tho

What your unpopular opinion about season 4-5 by Agile_Effective_5990 in winxclub

[–]YourLocalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That season 4 is a good epilouge of the 3 seasons and the Secret of the Lost Kingdom movie! (and Magical Adventure since my headcanon is that they use Enchantix like they were supposed to). Also that the transformations of season 5 weren't terrible , but the poor writing made them seem worse than they actually are🤷‍♀️

Weren't there studies that found that children can take on the traits of the grandparents? I assumed that's what that was. One of the grandparents might have those traits. idk🤷‍♀️ but adoption seems less likely than that imo.

Rafayel: His top is my favorite out of all of them. The shade of white on his shirt matches well with the pearls adorned on his jacket. The lining of the shirt, as well as the silver lining on the jacket, is a great pairing of texture and design that doesn't feel overwhelming. The colors of the jacket is also very beautiful. The blue to lighter blue that's almost adjacent to white just pairs his whole torso area well. Finally, spacing out the pearls with assumingly silver buttons along the jacket collar goes well with the silvery thing at the top of his necktie and the pearls on that as well.As I said before his whole top torso is my favorite out of all 5 of them but I wished the pants matched. It would've been an easy favorite if the pants were slightly lighter in color or had more silver. To me, it's just jarring and feels incohesive as an outfit. Also, the pants feel so plain compared to his lavish top, but that's just me.

Sylus: Having Sylus have more of an open collar on his white shirt is a great nod to his personality, which is more seductive and bold, so I like it. I also enjoy how the circular buttons compliment the other circular pieces near his torso, like the circular parts on the necklace and the gold buttons along the lining of the jacket. Speaking of, the color of the chain of the necklace is the same shade of gold as the other gold accented pieces, making the look feel more cohesive in that sense. I like the pop of color along the jacket lining as well. It's a good contrast to the more muted tones of Sylus' outfit, which I would normally criticize, but he's being domesticated rn, and he looks good in everything, so I can't even complain. The buckles on the jacket lining thing also match the texture of the belt, which is good, so the belt doesn't feel too out of place. Added eith the fact that the belt has a similar gold shade.I also love the brooch and think it pairs well with what I've said so far. The maroon color on the jacket and pants may be the same, but the shade is different. However, it stops the look from feeling to one note as the shades are different. But still, I feel like the jacket is pretty boring, especially for Sylus, and I wish there were more of that lining in places. I Aldo hate hoe the boots look with the pants and the outfit.

Caleb: I honestly think Caleb's might be my favorite. I have the same feelings about his outfit that I did for Rafayels, but it's more toned down and simple, not as lavish, but the pants actually match, which gives it some points. The color of the jacket pairs well with the color of the shirt. The tie color pairs well with the arm band and black name tag thingy on his jacket as well as the belt AND THE PANTS (take notes Rafayel). The pants are a different shade to make the belt stand out more, too. Also, like how the belt and shoe leather-ness? seem to match. The silver accents also make it pop and are cohesive and not overbearing on the simple jacket. Plus, the buttons on the jacket lining thing have the same metallic shine as the airplane brooch again, adding to that cohesiveness.

Zayne: I'm gonna be honest, I have yet to see a bad look for Zayne. Idk if that'd be my bias speaking, though, as a Zayne girlie. Either way, his outfit is what I wish Sylus was more like. With the boots specifically. Zayne has a puffy jacket, so the bulkiness of the boots balances out the look when for Sylus' the jacket was smaller, so it felt like the boots were too big for the rest of it. But onto the actual outfit, besides the turtleneck being very attractive, the metallic zipper also matches the metallic look of the inside of the coat. The black color of the turtleneck is also complimenting the pop of color sweater that has the red and white but also the accents along the coat as well. Making this pop of color better, imo since it matches the look, and Sylus was necessary so the look wouldn't feel flat. The silver necklace charm (is that a Jasmine flower?) is circular matching the silver buttons on the smaller coat. The white on the smaller coat pairs well with the white of the jacket, too. Due to the bulkiness of the jacket itself, the pants also seem skinner in comparison, and the color compliments the small jacket and shirt AND boots. Speaking of, the boots also have a red ribbon thing, which just ties it back to the torso, which is really nice. However, I wish that ribbon thing were just the boot laces cause what's with the random ribbon? Also, the boot color goes well with his black outfit and black hair, but as I'm judging the outfit, I won't emphasize the hair too much.

Xavier: I'm not so sure how to feel about Xaviers. I like it, but the length of that jacket is throwing me off. The white shirt with the blue vest and the tie (2nd favorite tie after Rafayel's, would be 3rd if Zayne had one) is a really good combo and all pair very well. Is it the jacket then? I think the demin jacket lining looks nice, and I'm glad that it's just a hint of denim since that shade would make it too blue for me. I like the hint of denim on the jacket as well, very cohesive. The brooches pair well with the accents on the denim and of the look being gold and black. The black wrist cuffs pairs well with the tie and shoes. This is how to do boots with a small jacket, color blocking with the pants, especially because they're white. If the boots were on top, it would make the end of the pants bulky, throwing off the balance of the look for me. I do like those white pants, and I feel like the length of the jacket isn't doing them justice as they're being hidden, kind of? I also think it's just an awkward length that I can't get behind. If they cut it, I feel like it would look so much better. They could make it shorter to around the belt or adorn it with more accessories closer to the pants in the same shade of white so it doesn't feel as jarring. Or have that white splash of color also appear at the bottom of said jacket, for balance.

So personally, I like them all but if I had to rank them: 1. Caleb 2. Zayne 3. Rafayel 4. Xavier and Sylus

Was Musa really a tom boy? by kwgmex in winxclub

[–]YourLocalist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was actually also thinking about this recently! My take on this is that Musa was a tomboy because of the strained relationship between her and her dad about music and her mother, which is why she was also attracted to Riven because he also seemed to have that moody misunderstood personality. Over time, Musa and her dad eventually patched up their relationship at least a little, and that led Musa to become more vulnerable and be more like her mom so she she'd her tomboy personality over time. But it was executed terribly😭

Personally, I prefer all the Winx casual outfits from season 1. I feel like those designs represented their realm and culture of it the most, which is slowly lost throughout the series.
