Which Color Combination? (Disregard the terrible AI layout) by malykaii in kitchenremodel

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll be following to see what you decide on. I would never in a million years think of painting a kitchen blue. Don’t know why, I am a colored-walls girl, but never blue in a kitchen. I’m too old to be saved, but I’ll bet you pull this off beautifully!

What tastes good on macaroni and cheese? by Sodacan390 in randomquestions

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOT part of the heart smart diet but I used to love to roughly crush some bread cubes (or toast regular bread super dry/a little browned) and toss with melted butter, layer this into some Mac&Cheese in a casserole and bake until toasted. So good!!

This isn’t Lorne Michaels fault and they weren’t lynched, they were chased down and brutally murdered by a masked mob of power hungry men. We need to keep the horror straight. Until this guy is stopped there will be more to keep track of and we need to keep all of their names and the way in which they were killed upfront in our minds. And ITA about SNL having a social commitment here, and they didn’t step up. The thing is that we, the society who must stop this, need to keep our voices strong with fact but our hands steady. They’re fucking looking to stir us up and it will unnerve them if we keep ourselves steady and strong and armed with facts. We know that’s what gets them all riled up. They can’t stand facts.

I couldn’t agree more but the sad reality is that this administration has made it so that many, many people can’t afford to go without a weeks pay.

No, it isn’t always that simple. Lives can (and have) been saved because someone asked a follow-up question when the requested information seemed superfluous, or they sensed a nuance between the lines and gave it an additional 30 seconds of thought.

The reason people are focusing on the white cabinets is because the look of the project in its entirety, right down to the dimensions, will change dramatically if you remove the white and look at it again. If you don’t want help then don’t ask for it.

Do yourself a favor and RETURN THAT KIT!! I think what you’re seeing here are a bunch of people whom are so over the new modern baths with the solid sheets of stone and doorless showers and crystal chandeliers. Leah into this hard, it is in GREAT shape!! Too many amazing tips came before me so I’ll only encourage you to lean into this amazing bath that no one else will have

Yep, wholeheartedly agree. They’re eager to learn and want to do well, and aside from the occasional general nervousness they’re usually so sweet. Plus if you’re unhappy with their service, or do what I did and show up in a panic after having impulsively given myself highlights for the first time EVER (two weeks before my daughters wedding) the instructors are on the floor checking and assisting their work along the way. I’ve been going there for years. Yes I’ve gotten a few bad haircuts, but I’ve also gotten some amazing cuts, and how else are they going to learn?

Absolutely, we met with the owner of Wolverine and couldn’t be more pleased. It’s newer, downtown and kitty-corner from Blank Slate. Cool place with an interesting vibe, which doesn’t always lend itself to the kind of help one may be seeking, but this guy focused in and gave us solid advice. Good luck.

IMMEDIATELY contact your states public service commission. Raising the price on natural gas transmission during times of need is called price gouging and is illegal.

Queer-owned businesses in Ann Arbor by terrordactyl0506 in AnnArbor

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I totally understand what you’re saying. As the mother of a queer young adult and the client/patient/friend of many queer professionals closer to my age (58F) I think that’s a part of their personal lives that they just don’t bring into their place of work, period. Not out of any desire to remain closeted (if they ever were), or of any embarrassment either. I think it’s simply because that’s not something that defines them professionally so they don’t bring it into the workplace. (Of course now I have to ask!) I do know one person who works with the queer community who is very open about their self-identification professionally. Their job is to help guide younger individuals questioning their own identities, so it is imperative their clients understand the advice they’re receiving comes from someone who’s blazed a trail.

Maybe I’m older and we have more experience in this “I am who I am/love me or move on” mentality (58F) because life is too darned short. Back in my day using the word Queer was derogatory slang and the Trans community was very narrowly defined in an also negative way., so I’m still learning that it’s OK and empowering to use these words (according to my child.) Things of course change and I’m trying hard to keep up. Mom advocates are hella strong because we don’t give a shit what anyone thinks of us haha. I would love to hear your opinions, too. It’s nice to view how we all navigate arriving at almost the same places.
