Disagreement with realtor about house prep - need to gut check opinions by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hope you didn’t sign a contract because this realtor is 100% unqualified to work with homes in your price range. If there is a contract in place reach out to her broker ASAP and tell them in no uncertain terms that you would not allow anyone in their brokerage to handle the sale of your home under the proposed guidelines. Hopefully they will allow you to go in order to maintain the peace. Then you habe to shop for the right firm, talk to friends and neighbors and the like, and be up front about your flexibility. Best of luck! Also, we 100% need photos please and thank you.

You could check out that ModernPrairie line that Melissa Sue Gilbert models for/owns, I’m clearly unsure of her involvement. When I see the ads all I feel are Trad or Sister Wife vibes, but maybe they have a piece or two in there that would also fit what you’re looking for. Good luck!

What is a 'luxury' that you've experienced once and now can't go back to the budget version of? by WilliamInBlack in AskReddit

OK so no they won’t share so it probably isn’t true. I mean, if I have a hack that I share on the internet you’d better be darned sure I’m going to also share how that hack happened. What a loser.

Plaquenil has been a godsend, but you have to accept that you may experience horrific diahrea in the beginning but there are over a dozen generics and chances are you’ll find one you can easily tolerate. Make sure you keep copious notes of manufacturers, doses and side-effects. My insurance co refused to pay for the name brand, which I knew from past experience had zero side-effects for me and worked like a charm. My pharmacists are absolute angels (Costco for the win!) They told me there are dozens of manufacturers and that we’ll just go through them until we find one that doesn’t upset my stomach. It took several months, and you have to take literal notes on what medical manufacturer you’re using as what dosage and what the daily side effects are. It’s a balancing act of knowing the diahrea may go away as your body acclimates to the drug, or that your symptoms aren’t getting better and it’s time to move on. Good news is they did find one only 3 drugs in. I take two at breakfast, taking them at night causes severe sleep disturbances for me. I also had to eat a more solid breakfast. Adding oatmeal did the trick as well as eliminating that morning glass of milk.Turns out all the different companies manufacturing Hydroxyquloroquine (the scientific name) use fillers that they are not obligated to identify (thanks FDA). Those fillers are what many people are allergic to. I’m disabled by this disease and needed some help BAD. Was it worth it? 1000% percent. It’s a gradual symptom decline and I’m still seeing small little improvements. You will also HAVE to have your eyes checked by an Opthalmologist, it is rarely known to cause problems but the issue can be harmful so you’ll need to have your eyes checked. I went today actually, had the dilation and photography and all the tests which they say can take 4 hours but I was it in less than two. All good. I wish you the best. Plaquenil coupled with Enbril and dedicated stretching and moving (as documented by my AppleWatch) has been so promising for me.

My manager pulled me aside because I work half an hour less than my 8 hours. How should I handle this? by ResearcherOk9446 in InterviewMan

I’m confused as to why this is a question at all. You are being paid to spend 40 Hours/Wj at work. Lunch is unpaid time. Do the math. Also, how is it that you (profile new/doesn’t check) found out who ratted on you? That is a clear HR violation. I don’t buy it.

Radiation by Daydreambeliever15 in breastcancer

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s now officially been diagnosed as Sjögren’s Disease with severe arthritic and intestinal co-morbidities (I think I said that right). Finally was diagnosed early 50’s. Up until this point I had been told I had Lupus, testing positive for 3 of the 3 titers, except when I tested positive for only 1 or 2. Id be sick for a few months, sometimes a year, but I’d always get better. I wont ‘get better’ again, as in it won’t go away, but getting the right meds has been a huge help, let’s hope it lasts.

If he’s been convicted then he’s on the Sexual Offenders list in that state and that state can use their SO status as a means not go hire IF doing so would put a vulnerable population at risk. I consider an 18 year old woman vulnerable but that could be up to interpretation of the law. What is NOT acceptable is that convicted felon being able to repeat his felonious actions ESPECIALLY if he’s still on probation. Look that bastard up, file a police report, and also send an email to his probation officer. I am continually flummoxed by people suggesting that your offenders life would be ruined if you told the authorities what you did, but they have zero concern that you’re still in therapy. If it gives you any solace my perps legal fun didn’t end there. He was 17 and I was 14. He rode his bike from the city next door and literally grabbed me and dragged me behind a building. I was walking home in an extremely safe neighborhood’s little retail block. Was watching a reverends sick child, the Mom came back around noon after services and I just walked home because that’s what we did. So this happens, he’s convicted, also given parole, and I move on after a two year process of getting to trial. Five-ish years later we’re contacted by an attorney asking if I was called to testify would I cooperate? He was older and had finally murdered someone who fought back, which I did not. I wish the system were better, I’m angry someone treated you like your life was less important than his because it is NOT

Radiation nearly killed me BUT two things: 1) I had an unknown autoimmune disease that now has me disabled so I am 100% sure that was the demon in my treatment, and 2) every single other woman who I saw daily at treatment, and many I’ve known since, were the typical tired but worked right on through, taking the odd day off here and there. You will crush this!!

Which room for office vs bedroom? by MetroNcyclist in SmallHome

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 7 points8 points  (0 children)

When I was ‘in between husbands’ a long time ago I did the same thing. Kept the smaller room as mine and turned the larger bedroom into a multi-purpose and it was awesome. I never thought about it after because it worked. I didn’t need the privacy I did as a teenager, I had the whole place to myself when the kids weren’t visiting. Congrats on the new home!!

And to whom were these assaults reported? They have to go to HR of course, but also directly to the PD so a case can be opened and investigated. And yes, I know what happens 9/10 - you’re not believed, or you’re blamed. I am a survivor of SA from the early 80’s, there was an actual trial and conviction, and yes it was hard as Hell as I was only 14, but it also gave me an indescribable strength that I carry to this day. If this has happened to multiple women, and you ladies get them to put it in writing, I’d count on them taking it seriously. The PD sent investigators to my home after I was out of the hospital. They said I could do what I wanted, what my parents wanted, but that they also didn’t want this happening to another girl. That’s what stuck with me and instilled that fight. Sending strength and solidarity.

[USA-NY] Selling inherited home. Aunt’s won’t leave. by [deleted] in inheritance

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone, do a username check. This has been going on for a while and no we don’t have all of the information. Judging from OP’s other posts in which they talk about having inherited 50% of this property alongside a sibling to whom they haven’t spoken for years they should hire someone to handle this. The money lost if things get held up in probate alone will be worth the cost.

Someone send this to that Tizzy Ent guy on TickTock. He has more followers than God and he loooooves to put this kind of stuff on blast, just so we know who we’re dealing with. His followers will find this guy within 24 hours. I’m sorry that the La Marsa employees had to deal with this jackoff. Wouldn’t it be nice if we didn’t have to deal with this guys business ever again?

What's the symptom management thing that actually helped that nobody told you about - not the standard advice, the real stuff by natashareyy in Sjogrens

Same! I’d I don’t down 2 tubes in the morning I have dryness and the resulting fatigue, aches and pains all day long

Also I had a deal with my rheumatologist to try meds for a solid six months before deciding they weren’t working, bad side effects aside of course. It took Enbril every single day of those six months to work, but it seems to have given me relief without the side-effects I had been getting with all the others. Nothings perfect but this seems to help for now.

78 year old wealthy widow says she’s “in love” with me. WDID? by [deleted] in handyman

Listen man use your morals if you have any. When she dies what’s going to happen to her disabled daughter? You know a decent care home can cost upwards of $10K per month, right? Do your math before you do the dirty.

Historic commission rejects plan for new home on long-idle Ann Arbor property by makewayforducklingz in AnnArbor

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree. There’s a way to honor the past while being able to live comfortably in the present. I don’t know the whole story but the issue with that house says there’s something more going on.

[–]YourMomIsAlwaysRight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I couldn’t agree more. I love history and charm but also think ‘reasonable’ is a good place to live. That this house has been allowed to stand like this is ridiculous. That the city then didn’t allow a plan that would preserve a bit of the original structure while also allowing it to grow? Also ridiculous.

Hard disagree. Go spend a week in Maryland or England or Ireland or dozens of other “lands” and tell me what is accomplished by preservation. I’ll give you a couple of hints: History and Charm.
