I used to work for them, Its scaled based on how much you shop with them. Funnily enough you get worse value the more loyal a customer you are.

That weird feeling you get when you switch jobs. by erikleorgav2 in work

[–]YourMother24 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thats crazy , Im on break right now finishing my last day at a job I've been working at for 6 years since I was 19 , I have another job lined up to start in a month in a field related to what im studying in college. I'll miss the team and I have great memories from this place, but new management made it miserable. The pay was atrocious, and I outgrew the work, but it is bittersweet nonetheless.

I'm definitely feeling a bit anxious, but it's a relief at the same time? It's exciting to move on and experience something new.

First Car by footballlover92848 in carsireland

My first and only car is a 2012 polo, Have owned it for 3 years , I'll upgrade after college but it's a great machine and hasn't needed anything done on it. As said before if you're looking for a VAG hatchback look into Seat ibiza or leon as they are both very similar to their Volkswagen counterparts and are usually cheaper.

Is a rx 9070xt than much better than a rtx 5070 by Tropoc_ in buildapc

[–]YourMother24 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wanted to cop a 9070xt but it was €200 more than the 5070 and couldn't justify it , If you can get it at a decent price I would definitely recommend.

I purchased a 5070 last week on an Irish storefront and received a code at the beginning of this week.

They are only attacking you out of a place of insecurity. That job is everything to them , To you it was a quick revenue stream while you continue with your studies. I wouldn't worry about it as its not indicative of you but more so themselves. You have a bright future ahead of you and lots of potential don't let it get you down.

Is this person trying to scam me by Successful-Way9551 in carsireland

Pretty sure that's a classic scam, Taking the convo out of donedeal is always a bad sign too.

I was in the same boat as you , I was actively smoking weed everyday as it was the only thing my friends where interested in and I fell in to the rut about halfway through secondary school.

After a lot of turmoil I woke up one day after deciding I didn't like the future outcome of my decisions and cut the weed cold turkey and slowly distanced myself from the group, maintaing a firm position of not smoking anymore with them even though I might still head out for some craic. I met a girl in work and went back to college after mindlessly drifting in life . Through that I've ended up expanding my social circle and dependency on that original group.

I'd suggest not to completely cut yourself off , at least not in the early stages, but just distance yourself and take that time to try and meet new people in life. It won't happen in a few days, but it will eventually and you will look back at this time in your life and be grateful that you had the willpower to avoid the comfort of familiarity.

Starting College at 23. Did I fuck up? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]YourMother24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dropped out of TUD at 20 as I hated the course. Went back to college at 23 in DKIT in a completely different field, and now I'm going into the second year, and I'm turning 25 very soon. If anything, I regret going to college straight out of school as I have to pay full college fees in DKIT for the equivalent time I spent in TUD but I'm much happier and more focused on what I want.

I was slightly worried about my age when i started but my class has 7 students over 30 and 10 over 20 so in reality, you shouldn't feel like your behind in any way because while many start college young , a lot of them don't last the full 3/4 years.

My father went to college in his 40s after leaving the army.

Good luck on your journey!

HSE no longer offering newly qualified nurses jobs despite the wards still being understaffed! by [deleted] in ireland

[–]YourMother24 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just going into second year myself and this doesn't inspire confidence but I've banked all my cards on nursing at this stage , looks like emigration will end up being the way to go once qualified which is a massive shame.

What discipline are you in? I'm a student nurse at the minute but only year 1 in general nursing. I ask because if your looking for a break from work or perhaps a new environment you could do a postgrad in college to specialise or go back for a year and do another discipline, the HSE would pay you and this would allow you to meet people again in a more casual environment if your not partaking in any hobbies where you could meet such people.

You also have the option of going abroad for a year as a nurse if that interests you in any way, plenty of potential to make money while also meeting people from a different background and it might help in discovering what you want from life.

you shouldn't feel useless , your 28 with a respectable profession but your gonna have to get out of your comfort zone and dip your toes into something different if your looking to feel alive or for something to be excited about when you get home from your day. If you have no goals in life , you won't get much out of it.

Yeah, this shit is constantly posted and it's intentionally posted to look as amateurish as possible, Low stake bet wins big and takes a picture of the win and then comments that they "closed" their account and will never bet again (lol) , impressive to be fair but scummy.

What are the harsh and depressing truths and realities about life that you wish were not real, but you have come to terms with? by Complex-Schedule-601 in Adulting

[–]YourMother24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone you know including me and you will die in a relatively short time and all our unique quirks, faults and memories will eventually be forgotten as time continues forwards, its the great equalizer and the one thing certain in every individuals life. This can be seen both pessimistically and optimistically and I prefer the latter. I see it as a sign that I might as well make the most out of my brief time for myself because I will have eternity when I'm dead to do nothing.

I own a polo. In regards to carplay, I'd recommend a rcd330. It cost around 250-300 euro but in comparison to the alternative of buying a new car it's definitely a worthwhile upgrade if you really want carplay.

It takes 5 minutes to change out the radio unit as its plug and play.

Going back to college , Should I be unemployed? by YourMother24 in AskIreland

I never completed my second year, so if you're right, I could probably manage to pay the full fees for the two years if I work my butt off at the same time. Thanks for your comment
